20'000 Baht in cash - or no entry to Thailand
Some tourist visa holders being asked to show 20'000 Baht in CASH when entering Thailand, ThaiVisa News, The Nation as well as Phuket Gazette report.
It seems that Thailand does not need tourists anymore...
Red Bull Heir still on the run
According to a report published by Bangkok Post, Police have yet to send a request to the Attorney General’s Office for the extradition of Vorayuth "Boss" Yoovidhya, a Red Bull scion accused of killing a policeman in a hit-and-run case five years ago.
Vorayuth's passport was cancelled and an arrest warrant was issued for him after he flew out of Thailand on his private plane two days before he was due to face the charges. But since then, the chief of foreign affairs of the Attorney General's Office is still waiting for the request for the extradition.
The fatal hit-and-run charges expire on September 3th, 2017, under the statute of limitations...
Update (July 17th):
The Nation: Vorayuth extradition on hold for police documents Update (July 19th): Bangkok Post: Police hired a company to translate 34 pages of documents and expects the work to be ready this Friday (July 21st, 2017) Update (July 20th): Bangkok Post: The National Anti-Corruption Commission (NACC) has for the second time formed a panel to probe police officers who allegedly assisted Red Bull scion Vorayuth Yoovidhya in evading charges Last year in September the NACC already started a probe with no results so far. It seems the officials like to particpe in the case in some way or another... Update (July 22th): Since Friday (July 21st) the extradition request is translated, but the extradition process might be slow - very slow indeed and probably will miss the September 3th, 2017, deadline. Remember: Red Bull gives you wings.

Thai consumer confidence down
Thai Consumer confidence declined for a second straight month in June, to a 5-month low, on worries about the country's economic recovery.
Since about two months we feel concerned about the fact that not only tourist-oriented restaurants are missing customers but also eateries serving mostly Thais.
A girlfriend running a small corner shop in a small village in the Korat told me a few days ago that she makes good business now: Villagers do not have the money anymore to eat at a restaurant, they are buying my cookings now and eat at home...
Update (July 14th, 2017):
Bangkok Post: Unfavourable economic conditions and the Governmen's tougher rules on migrant workers are major reasons forcing about 2'300 small restaurants nationwide to close this year...
No Sex in Pattaya means no money in the North and the North Eastern Provinces of this country,
Total Surveillance
Thailand's Dictator General Prayuth Chan-ocha and his handpicked Military Junta convert Thailand, Land of the Free, into a state of total surveillance.
On July 4th the Dictator's reform body has voted almost unanimously for a new set of stringent restrictions including mandatory fingerprint, face scanning and the registartion of your 13-digit citizen identification numbers - or in the case of foreigners their passport details - even to buy time to use a mobile phone.
The new regulations bring Thai censorship and online restrictions closer to those of nations such as China, Iran and North Korea.
With the new rules Thailand's Dictator not only wants to control its citizens but also the whole bunch of the country's expats and tourists.
Moreover, he also tries to control the whole content of the internet, including the content of social media providers like Facebook, Line and Twitter.
But that's not enough: The Dictator even tells its citizens and the country's entertainment industry whats good and what's bad, what's Thainess and what's not.
The Dictator's new proposals are part of the government's 20-year National Strategy plan to retain the army's influence even after elections are held.
Hitler had similar ideas.

Naris Niramaiwong, Banglamung’s district chief, denied online assertions that authorities are only raiding establishments that aren’t paying tea money, or regular bribes to continue operating outside the law.
He denied police or other authorities received any kind of weekly or monthly bribe...
Perhaps the lovely chief can explain why officials pay as much as 1.5 million Baht to 2 million Baht for a police inspector position or 5 million Baht to 7 million Baht to secure a superintendent position (as published by Bangkok Post on June 14th, 2017).
Update (July 2nd, 2017):

Update (July 11th, 2017):

Important Notice
Since General Prayuth Chan-ocha and his Military Junta launched their Coup d'état on May 22nd, 2014, Thailand's Visa ground rules are constantly changing. More over, not every consulate can issue all the different Visas. Some smaller consulates even display notices to the effect that non-immigrant visas are unavailable.
Our advice: Before booking your holidays please contact the Embassy in your country to obtain information about Thailand's latest regulation(s) and check the Chonburi Immigration Website or the website of Thailand's Immigration Police.
Update (March 2016):
New Overstay Regulations
Thailand's new immigration policy will take effect on March 20th of this year.
Please click for details!
Busy Immigration
Pol Lt Gen Nathathorn Prousoontorn, chief of the Immigration Bureau, informed the media that between October 2015 and March 2016 Thailand's Immigration deported a total of 486'947 foreigners who overstayed their visas. Another 323'575 foreigners overstaying their visas still remain at large.
If the numbers mentioned above are correct, the Immigration Bureau deported about 2'700 people a day...
Congratulation!
Never trust a statistic that you have not manipulated yourself!
New 10-year Visa
Thailand's interim Government announced on November 22nd, 2016, that foreign residents over 50 will be able to apply for 10-year visas.
The new Visa would replace one-year renewable visas and come in two installments of five years each.
Applicants must either earn a monthly salary of at least 100'000 Baht or have more than 3 million Baht in their bank account, which cannot be withdrawn within the first year after receiving the visa.
Applicants also must also have a health insurance that covers hospital stays and provides at least US$10'000 in annual coverage.
Visa holders will still have to check in every 90 days with the Bureau of Immigration.
Up & Down
Thailand's Military Junta cuts the visa-on-arrival fee for tourists from Andorra, Bulgaria, Bhutan, China, Cyprus, Ethiopia, India, Kazakhstan, Latvia, Lithuania, the Maldives, Malta, Mauritius, Romania, San Marino, Saudi Arabia, Taiwan, Ukraine and Uzbekistan from today 2'000 Baht to 1'000 Baht.
The 1'000-Baht fee for visas sought at Thai embassies and consulates would be lifted.
The reduction is applicable from December 1st, 2016, to February 28th, 2017, only.
The change was announced less than two months after the visa fee was increased to 2'000 Baht on September 27th, 2016...
New Rules
Foreigners who enter Thailand without a visa via a land border crossing can now do so only twice per calendar year.
Those who seek to enter Thailand without a visa via a land border checkpoint for a third time in a calendar year may be denied entry and asked to apply for a regular visa first.
Entries through international airports are not affected by this new regulation.
While eligible foreigners who enter Thailand under the “visa exemption” scheme would previously get 30 days exclusively at international airports but only 15 days at border crossings, this rule has now been relaxed and all foreigners will receive 30-day entry stamps also at land border checkpoints.
The new rules went into effect on December 31st, 2016.
Free visas extended
Bangkok Post reports that Thailand's Government extended by six months to August free visas at Thai consulates and embassies and discounts on visas on arrival for visitors from 21 countries.
Chonburi Immigration Office got new Chief
Pattaya Mail reports on July 8th, 2017, that the Chonburi Immigration Office got a new Chief.

No Crackdown on Bikini Race?
Pattaya Bikini Race, Juli 1st, 2017
Pattaya's Officals are launching crackdown after crackdown to please Thailand's Military Junta, its moral apostles and to move the city into a family-friendly tourist destination featuring dirty beaches, unusable pavements, deadly pedestrian crossings, ruthless drivers and a mostly polluted air.
On the other hand they launch a 3 to 9 kilometer long Bikini Beach Race with gorgeous babes and handsome men. There is even a competition for the best bikini worn by both sexes.
We live in a really crazy part of this world.

Where are all that Tourists TAT is talking about?
They enjoy Explicit Sex Shows in Pattaya!
A few years ago Pattaya's Officials announced to transfer our World Class (dirty) Beach Resort into a family-friendly tourist destination. It never happened.
On March 27th, 2017, Bangkok Post reported that Pattaya tries again to become family friendly. Obviously the lovely officials never learned that announcements alone do not change anything.
On July 5th, 2014, the Thailand Convention and Exhibition Bureau announced its strategic plan to turn Pattaya into an international meetings, incentives, conferences and exhibitions (MICE) destination. It never happened.
On June 2nd, 2017, LovePattaya reported that Deputy Mayor Bantit Kunjak chaired a meeting with people from many sectors at the town hall to discuss the strategy and launch of Pattaya as a MICE city.
In the meantime Pattaya's Authorities started a crackdown on Sex businesses on Walking Street and on Soi 6, launched new regulations for that areas and told the Western Press they are cleaning up Pattaya.
It's a farce!
Reality is that the hordes of Chinese tourists visiting beautiful Pattaya are lured to Soi 1 (off Pattaya Second Road) and Soi 29/1 (off Naklua Road) to enjoy 'Pattaya's most shocking Sex shows' in special built Music Halls.
BigEye on Soi 1
Bang UP on Soi 1
Number ONE on Soi 29/1 (The Harem & Fantasy Show)
visited mainly by people from the Indian subcontinent 69 Show (also known as 6996 Show) on Soi 29/1
New Show Temple to open soon on Soi 29/1
69 Show, as an example, runs two showa daily, with up to 100 (or even more) tourist buses carrying Chinese tourists to the shows. The many buses create a traffic chaos. Usually Pattaya Policemen try to regulate the traffic (instead to clean up Pattaya from 'reputation-damaging sex shows'...).
The official ticket price for Chinese tourists is at least 1'200 Baht!

New Obstruction for Pedestrians?
Ignored Bus Stops in Pattaya
On June 20th, 2017, the Pattaya City Council, also known as Pattaya's arm of the Military Junta, approved a 1.4-million-Baht budget for the construction of 30 passenger shelters at locations across Pattaya, particularly along Pattaya Beach Road, Pattaya Second Road and adjacent streets.
Pol Maj Gen Pundit Khunnachak, deputy mayor of the city municipality, claims that the work is in line with the National Council for Peace and Order's policy to better regulate traffic and transport for the benefit of local commuters and tourists.
Bus stops currently consist of painted markings on the road surface. Pattaya's citizens, the tourists as well as almost all Baht Bus drivers are ignoring them...
The result will be that the new Bus Stop Shelters will be just another obstruction for Pedestrians.
Useless Street Signs in Pattaya
Shortly after its inauguration, the the Pattaya City Council installed new but absolutely useless road signs on almost all larger junctions around Pattaya. Many of them even are obstructing pedestrians

Stupid traffic signaling in Pattaya
Pattaya Beach Road, in front of Royal Garden Plaza:
Markings on the street are signaling parking lots for motorcycles, but no-parking zone markings on the sidewalk are telling the contrary Be aware: Police use the irritating markings to distribute parking ticket... Most of Pattaya's highly educated Officials obviously still don't know that the red color in a sign describes a ban. Thailand produce a list of authorized traffic signes, but our city's arrogant Officials still believe they have to create their very own signs.
Nevertheless, sometimes there is a ray of hope...

(Stupid) Pattaya City Council introduces just another day without sun shades and deckchairs
Humans need the sun, but too much is unhealthy
Doctors all aver the world knows it and warn their patients, but Thailand's Military Junta obviously never read about it:
Sunburn is a clear sign that the DNA in your skin cells has been damaged by too much UV radiation. Getting sunburn, just once every 2 years, can triple your risk of melanoma skin cancer.
Sunburn doesn't have to be raw, peeling or blistering.
If your skin has gone pink or red in the sun, it's sunburnt.
Nevertheless, Thailand's Military Junta is cleaning up the beaches in Hua Hin, Pattaya, Phuket and elsewhere from sun shades and deckchairs.
Pattaya's Beaches are playgrounds for dogs..
... and rats and therefore absolutely unhealthy
Doctors warn too: Don't lay down on the sand. You can pick up any kind of disease. It is essential for your health to use a deckchair on any of Pattaya's (or even Thailand's) dirty beaches.
Remember: More than 80% of Pattaya's wastewater goes uncleaned into the sea
Update (July 1st, 2017):
Pattaya Mail: Pattaya Beach goes ‘chair-free’ for 2 days
Pattaya Mail: Beach vendors remove equipment
Pattaya Mail: Pattaya Beach resurfacing begins
Pattaya Mail: Sewer line replacement fouls Jomtien Beach
On July 15th Bangkok Post reports, among other newspapers too, that broken pumps at a 15-year-old treatment facility are the root cause of Pattaya's beach pollution.
Mr. Chao Nokyoo, the department's director for water quality management, told the press that the problem will be fixed and new pumps will be installed this month.
As usual, that's only half of the story:
Pattaya City itself, not the hotels, exhausts its stinky wastewater directly into the beach
Photo made on May 13th, 2008, at 20:18 at the Pier Bar Complex In our May 2008 edition we already published a picture showing that Pattaya City Hall is dispatching its wastewater during rainy nights untreated directly into the sea.
New pumps do not change the situation. They simply move the waste deeper into the sea
Pattaya Mail: South Pattaya sewage leak causes outrage because Pattaya's 15-year-old sewage treatment system could not send sewage to the treatment plant on Soi Nongyai due to broken pumps...

Forget all that shit people told you about bread!
Healthy Bread
Scientists from the Weizmann Institute compared two kinds of bread viewed as being on opposite ends of the health spectrum. One was industrial white bread made from refined wheat and considered less healthy. The other was sourdough-leavened bread made in an artisanal bakery from freshly stone-milled whole grain wheat flour and baked in a stone hearth oven: It was prepared specially for the study and was assumed to possess superior properties.
During the study the scientists divided the participants into two groups and asked to consume large quantities of bread (supplying about a quarter of their caloric intake) for a week. One group ate the white bread, and the other, the healthy sourdough bread. After a two-week break, they switched, and for a week the group that had previously eaten white bread ate the sourdough bread, and vice versa.
Tests revealed that eating bread of any kind affected the blood levels of sugar, minerals, liver enzymes and other substances. But when the scientists compared the effects of the two types of bread, they were surprised. We were sure that the sourdough bread would come out a healthier choice, but much to our surprise, we found no difference between the health effects of the two types of bread, says Prof. Eran Segal of Weizmann Institute's Computer Science and Applied Mathematics Department.
The study showed, for example, that about half of the participants had higher blood sugar levels after eating white bread, whereas the other half had higher blood sugar after eating sourdough bread.
It seems that the body's response to bread is a highly personal matter. It works like the placebo effect: If you believe that sourdough bread is better for you, it will be better for you - but not healthier.
Don't forget:
Like Rice, dark bread contains a lot more arsenic than white once.
If the arsenic resides in your body it remains there and will shorten your live!
Make Pattaya the Healthiest Place in this World
Our World Class Beach Resort is struggling to transfer its image as a 'Sex Capital' to a Family Resort or even a MICE city.
We have the inspiring idea to change the image of Pattaya once and for ever! Let's create Pattaya, the Healthiest Place on Earth.
It shouln't be a complicated task!
With the power of Section 44 Thailand's Dictator General Prayuth Chan-ocha can easely ban the use of all unhealthy oils in Pattaya:
For all kind of fried foods cooks have to use Coconut oils, for salads they are obligated to use Flaxseed Oils and Balsamic Vinegar from Modena only.
Exemption: The use of Canola Oil is only permitted for cooking foods for American tourists to further support their weight and their diseases.
Som Tam has to be prepared with fresh ingredients only. The use of Pla Ra (also known as Pa La) or raw fish is strictly banned.
To support the poor regions in the North of the country, all kind of love before and/or after a meal is strongly recommended because it's recognized by most scientists as the healtiest of all activities.
Make LOVE not MICE!
but still large Discounts on Hotel Rooms
According to Miss Suladda Salutilawan, director of TAT Pattaya branch, this year Pattaya will face 'no low season' - nevertheless, you can expect large discounts on hotel rooms on all kind of hotels, even at hotels located on prime locations.

Jomtien faces a very low season and therefore a lot of restaurant at prime locations had to close during the last few months. We show you a few of them only:
First known as Oasis, a Russian restaurant, later known as Anwar, a Lebanese restaurant on Jomtien Beach Road at the entrance to Soi 5, they both had to close down for the very same reason: Missing tourists...
Located on Thappraya Road, a few meters from the beach only, this was the home of a popular Russian Restaurant. It had to close because of missing tourists.
Also located on Thappraya Road and also a few meters from the beach only, Rumours closed down because of missing tourists.
La Taverna, an nice Italian Bistro closed down because of missing tourists. It also was located a few metres from Beach Road on Soi Thappraya.
Firehouse as well as Pastrami on Rye, both located on Thappraya Road, on the way to the beach, closed down.
We could fill up a whole page with pictures from once popular restaurants in Jomtien who had to close their doors - and all of them face the very same problem: Missing tourists. Neverteheless, Miss Suladda Salutilawan, director of TAT Pattaya branch, could tell the press last month that this year Pattaya will face 'no low season'...
Close your eyes and dream well!
Teatro, the Travesty Cabaret Show on Thappraya Road opened during March 2017, closed down last month: Missing customers.

During May 2017 Antiques Francais closed its door for reconstructions. In the meantime the shop reopened: Larger and more magnificent than ever.
A Rainbow FoodMart opened on South Pattaya Road, a few meters opposite of the TukCom Mall. It opens 24 hours/day and is some kind of a small '7 eleven' but with a large food bar and some seatings to enjoy a meal. Tasty burgers and Thai foods costs between 59 and 79 Baht, Sweets can be bought from 39 Baht.
The Bay on Pattaya Beach Road should have a lot of attractive restaurants and bars since January 2016. It doesn't. But its McDonald's fast food outlet seems to be the best frequented in Pattaya. It's open around the clock.
To attract customers to the otherwise abandoned place, the management launches a Beer Garden and a Seaview Market at The Bay.
The activities are scheduled to start on July 21st.
After serving tasty food for 50 years, Boat Bakery had to close down the restaurant during June 2017 because the landlord decided to sell the building.

On July 10th, the G-Spot sign got replaced by Annabelle's.
Nevertheless, a question remains unanswered: Why was G-Spot removed? Is Annabelle one of the many women without the elusive G-Spot?
On July 7th some websites reported that Bypass A Go-Go has been dark for a couple of nights. It's a hoax! Bypass A Go-Go is still open.

In our May edition we reported about the broken wooden railngs at Pattaya Beach Promenade.
Just in front of the two dry days on July 8th and 9th City Hall let repair the broken railings by a 'professional team of woodmakers' as you can see on our photos.
It shows again that Pattaya's Officials do not have the slightest idea what they are talking about when they tell the press about their World Class Beach Resort of Pattaya.
Please remember: The Military Junta sells Pattaya as aFamily-friendly World Class Beach Resort.

Tap Water in some parts of Pattaya
Since April 19th Pattaya's highly professional Provincial Waterworks Authority (PWA) delivers dirty tap water to houses, residences and hotels in some parts of this World Class City.
The water contains a lot of black sand and has a terrible smelling, but nobody cares.
A Chemist told us:
Do not use Pattaya's water to clean your teeth.
Be careful and use Drinking Water when cleaning wounds and/or genitals.
Nevertheless, Pattaya's tap water is still less contaminated than the sea in front of this World Class Beach Resort...

Wikipedia about Pattaya Pattaya claims to be a world-class beach resort. It's a lie! The city is not even capable to present an event calendar.
Most events are announced only a few days before they happen.
Other cities or even whole regions publish event calendars or event books covering all events of a year.
Pattaya suffers from megalomania.

No Alcohol Days
Thailand's National No Alcohol Days include Buddhist holidays and election days.
On all oher days alcohol can only be sold between 11:00-14:00 and 17:00-24:00.
Vendors caught breaking the ban are liable to a prison sentence of up to six months, a 10'000 Baht fine or both - but local Police use their own discretion to decide which venues need to be visited and fined...
Don't start laughing:
Do not try to buy non alcoholic beers (available from Clausthaler and Oettinger in this country).
The shops won't sell them during dry days.
Some not even sell Soda Water, because Thais and their Police associate it with (Thai) Whisky...

Electric Vehicles use batteries and batteries are not only a threat to our planet during manufacturing, the 'Recycling' of batteries is still an unsolved problem in most countries.
If the power for charging the batteries is generated by fossil or nuclear power plants than the LCA (life cycle assessment) turns completely to the worse.

Solar Cells are a threat to our planet:
The higher the efficiency of a Solar Cell the more Cadmium it contains.
Cadmium is banned from most products in almost all countries, but it can be used without restrictions in Solar Cells. Who controls the 'Recycling' of Solar Cells?

The worst ever Skype
Last month, Microsoft started to roll out its new Skype experience on iOS and Android devices.
The team that designed the new App believe it's the best Skype we've ever built – inside and out – and it's been designed to make it easier for you to use for your everyday communications.
Users all over the world have a completely different view: This new app is absolutely terrible, they say. This is the worst update ever! The new update is horrible. It should have buried!
It seems the team designed the new Skype not for its professional user base, but for children used to play the mobile in a Kindergarden.

Milking Foreigners!
Thailand's National Parks, Wildlife and Plant Conservation Department ordered that admission fees for foreigners at national parks throughout the country have to be 400 Baht.
Entry charge for Thai nationals remains 40 Baht for adults and 20 Baht for children.
To cover the inequity the local's prices are printed in Thai script only.
No progress on Jet Ski saga:
Pattaya City Hall still doesn't do anything to stop the scam!
All the announcements made during last year were City Hall Blah-Blah only...
As long as Jet Ski vendors - respectively their victims - fill up our officials' pockets nothing will happen!
Update (published by Pattaya Mail): Problems with Jet Ski operators unsolved. The boats are overloaded, don't provide lifevests for all passengers, are badly maintained and aren't covered by adequate insurance policies.
Pattaya's lazy and allegedly corrupt Officials promised to check owners, personnel and boats regularly, but they don't. According to Pattaya Police, it is common in this resort that foreign tourists get drugged and robbed in their hotel rooms, apartments or houses by prostitutes or ladyboys. Ladyboy Pick-Pocket Gangs are working almost daily on Pattaya's Beach Promenade! Never wear Gold in Pattaya! Between 30 to 50 snatching valuables cases are reported to Pattaya's Police every single month. In all Religions I would end in the Hell. Therefore it would be better to be an Atheist.
