Thailand's 'Rich and Famous' are driving stolen Cars
According to Thailand's Department of Special Investigation (DSI), some of the country's 'Rich and Famous', Thailand's so-called Elite, are driving stolen luxery cars they brought in Bangkok's Rama IX and Ekamai areas and at Siam Paragon (the Pride of Bangkok, where it's all about socializing)...
Obviously an international network of crooks purloined the cars in Europe, shipped them to Thailand and sold them here in luxerious showrooms in Bangkok and all over Thailand.
Wasted years
Thailand's Dictator General Prayuth Chan-ocha and his handpicked National Council for Peace and Order (NCPO) just celebrated 3 years of being in power.
Three years too many:
Once again
Thailand's Dictator General Prayuth Chan-ocha warned his citizens that next year's general election could be delayed if law and order continues to be disrupted by bomb attacks and other threats to peace.
It's nothing new, the Dictator already told his subjects last year that he needs another 20 years to change the behavier of his country and to elliminate corruption...
Make Fun of Thailand
Many still remember the situation when on December 29th, 2004, Thailand's Navy ordered their soldiers to Koh Samui to protect the island from the deadly tsunami that broke in over Phuket.
Thailand's highly educated officers completely forget that Koh Samui as well as Koh Pangan are Thailand's only islands that can not be reached by a tsunami.
A few years later the world was able to make fun of Thailand again when Surat Thani Governor Thawatchai Therdphaothati told the press that on Koh Samui's Chaweng Beach the National Disaster Warning Center would install a tsunami warning system.
On 16 May 2017 the world just got another reason to make fun of Thailand:
Thailand's Military Junta threatened Facebook and his boss Zuckerberg with legal actions if they do not immediately remove 131 objected pages.
But that's still not enough:
Thailand's Navy is a constant source of laugh:
On May 5th the Navy and a Chinese submarine supplier signed the procurement contract for at least one submarine in China.
An expensive contract for a completely useless toy.
Thailand's naval base as well as its submarine education and training center is located in Sattahip, in the Gulf of Thailand.
The Gulf of Thailand has a maximum deep of about 50 meters.
A children's playground for a submarine.
Therefore Thailand's Navy claims that the submarine would also be operated in the Andaman Sea, which has an average depth of 1'000 metres.
With the submarine averaging four knots in speed, it would take nearly two weeks for a round trip of 1'200 nautical miles between the Gulf of Thailand, around the Malay Peninsular and passing through the Straits of Malacca to the Andaman Sea...

Underage Sex Scandal shakes Thailand's Government
Pattaya versus Mae Hong Son
Obviously the big noise about Pattaya's Sex Business should hide the shocking news about the involvement of Thailand's Officials in human trafficking and underage prostitution in the country's Northern Province of Mae Hong Son.
The scandal has such a dimension that Thailand's Dictator General Prayuth Chan-ocha tried to misslead the public by claiming that no government officials will be involved in the scandal. The contrary is true - and the Dictator should know it because it's a decade old tradition...
Should Thailand's courts apply the same standards as with foreign baddies, Thailand would be soon without any Government officials.

Celebrating three years of Dictatorship
On May 22nd, 2014, at 17:00 (Thailand Time) General Prayuth Chan-ocha announced the 12th Coup d'état in Thailand's hsitory.
Now the Dictator and his handpicked National Council for Peace and Order (NCPO), also known as the Military Junta, are celebrating the 3rd anniversary of the coup:

Be aware of the deadly Dengue Fever
The rainy season arrived early this year and with it the risks of an epidemic of the Dengue Haemorrhagic Fever (DHF) virus.
The Bangkok Metropolitan Administration’s Communicable Disease Control Division is worried that the number of cases will be even higher than last year, The Nation reports.
Symptoms usually begin four to six days after infection and last for up to 10 days:
Does Thailand's Dictator really know what he is speaking about?
Thailand's Dictator General Prayuth Chan-ocha promises to improve the country's education system, to spur innovation and technology and to introduce Thailand 4.0, a campaign initiated by the Dictator to push Thailand into the 21st century.
But at the same time he promotes the same age-old structure and philosophies that hinders Thailand's people of critical and logical thinking.
By wasting taxpayers money in buying submarines, tanks and an assembly plant for munitions Thailand's Military Junta can't prepare the country for the future:

Officials detect Whorehouse
Mr Narit Niramaiwong, chief of BangLamung, ordered Mr Praphan Pratumchomphu, deputy chief of a stabilization division, to check Blizz Lounge, a Bar and Restaurant on Pattaya 3rd Road.
During inspection of the commercial building the Officials found 5 prostitutes, some customers, used tissue with sperm stain and used condoms. They closed the etablisement and will prosecute the owner according to the Thai law.

Bangkok Police Chief lies again
Khaosod English caught Lt. Gen. Sanit Mahatavorn, the Chief of Bangkok's Metropolitan Police Bureau, with a new lie. Afterwards he claimed he lied about attack to fool bombers...
When the National Anti-Corruption Commission (NACC) revealed the asset declarations of new NLA members, it was disclosed that Bangkok police chief Pol Lt Gen Sanit Mahathavorn has received monthly payments of 50'000 Baht from alcohol conglomerate Thai Beverage PLC, the brewer of Chang Beer, as an adviser to the firm since 2015.
Sanit also serves as a member of the city's alcohol control committee, raising conflict of interest issues.

Important Notice
Since General Prayuth Chan-ocha and his Military Junta launched their Coup d'état on May 22nd, 2014, Thailand's Visa ground rules are constantly changing. More over, not every consulate can issue all the different Visas. Some smaller consulates even display notices to the effect that non-immigrant visas are unavailable.
Our advice: Before booking your holidays please contact the Embassy in your country to obtain information about Thailand's latest regulation(s) and check the Chonburi Immigration Website or the website of Thailand's Immigration Police.
Update (March 2016):
New Overstay Regulations
Thailand's new immigration policy will take effect on March 20th of this year.
Please click for details!
Busy Immigration
Pol Lt Gen Nathathorn Prousoontorn, chief of the Immigration Bureau, informed the media that between October 2015 and March 2016 Thailand's Immigration deported a total of 486'947 foreigners who overstayed their visas. Another 323'575 foreigners overstaying their visas still remain at large.
If the numbers mentioned above are correct, the Immigration Bureau deported about 2'700 people a day...
Congratulation!
Never trust a statistic that you have not manipulated yourself!
New 10-year Visa
Thailand's interim Government announced on November 22nd, 2016, that foreign residents over 50 will be able to apply for 10-year visas.
The new Visa would replace one-year renewable visas and come in two installments of five years each.
Applicants must either earn a monthly salary of at least 100'000 Baht or have more than 3 million Baht in their bank account, which cannot be withdrawn within the first year after receiving the visa.
Applicants also must also have a health insurance that covers hospital stays and provides at least US$10'000 in annual coverage.
Visa holders will still have to check in every 90 days with the Bureau of Immigration.
Up & Down
Thailand's Military Junta cuts the visa-on-arrival fee for tourists from Andorra, Bulgaria, Bhutan, China, Cyprus, Ethiopia, India, Kazakhstan, Latvia, Lithuania, the Maldives, Malta, Mauritius, Romania, San Marino, Saudi Arabia, Taiwan, Ukraine and Uzbekistan from today 2'000 Baht to 1'000 Baht.
The 1'000-Baht fee for visas sought at Thai embassies and consulates would be lifted.
The reduction is applicable from December 1st, 2016, to February 28th, 2017, only.
The change was announced less than two months after the visa fee was increased to 2'000 Baht on September 27th, 2016...
New Rules
Foreigners who enter Thailand without a visa via a land border crossing can now do so only twice per calendar year.
Those who seek to enter Thailand without a visa via a land border checkpoint for a third time in a calendar year may be denied entry and asked to apply for a regular visa first.
Entries through international airports are not affected by this new regulation.
While eligible foreigners who enter Thailand under the “visa exemption” scheme would previously get 30 days exclusively at international airports but only 15 days at border crossings, this rule has now been relaxed and all foreigners will receive 30-day entry stamps also at land border checkpoints.
The new rules went into effect on December 31st, 2016.
Free visas extended
Bangkok Post reports that Thailand's Government extended by six months to August free visas at Thai consulates and embassies and discounts on visas on arrival for visitors from 21 countries.

Bali Hai Marina on July 30th, 2016): Construction completed in 2013?
On May 3rd Sinchai Wattanasartsathorn, a Pattaya councillor, asked the city's executive members why the Bali Hai parking area for cars and boats remained unopened and unused. According to the City the about 735 million Baht expensive Bali Hai Marina was 'finished' during 2013.
During 2015 Pattaya News Flash as well as Pattaya Days published photos from the 'finished' Bali Hai Marina. The area looked like a warzone.
Bali Hai Marina was initiated by former Pattaya Mayor Itthiphol Khunplome. Without Bali Hai Marina the controversial Waterfront Condominium and Hotel never could be built...
Update (May 20th): Pattaya will spend another 5 million Baht to hire another surveyor to appraise the damage and prospects for repair of the Bali Hai marina. Baht Bus Chaos is back!
On December 9th the Military Junta announced to reorganize the Pattaya Baht Buses. Every car got a (hardly visible) number corresponding to the bus route the vehicle has to serve. The junta also published successively two incomplete plans showing the routes the drivers have to follow.
Because they forget to mark the Bus Stops at time, the start of Pattaya's new Bus regulation had to be postponed from December 24th, 2016, to February 1st, 2017.
The highly educated officials also banned all buses from Soi Buakhaow.
In the meantime some weeks passed by, some Bus Stop markings already are burned away by the sun and some drivers of Baht Buses run their vehicles the way they (or their passengers) want, and on Soi Buakhaow, still without any Bus Stops markings, in addition to the Buses from Line 6 you can see Line 5 and Line 7 Buses running in both directions.
Needless to say, that you never know which way your Bus runs and where it turns.
