New opening Hours for Pattaya's Bars, Clubs & Dancings
On July 7th, 2016, Pattaya Police Chief Col. Apichai Klobpetch announced new opening hours for Sin City: Venues located on Walking Street and on Pattaya Beach Road can stay open until 04:00, bars, clubs and dancings outside this area must close at 02:00. A Go-Go Bars are not allowed to open before 18:00. The police chief stressed that the new closing times would be strictly enforced. Venues found to be flouting the rules would be prosecuted and shutdown for five years, Pattaya Police Chief Col. Apichai Klobpetch said.
It was anticipated that businesses located on Walking Street get some special treatment. According to the law, all beaches in Thailand are public. Thailand's Building Control Act stipulates that no building is allowed up to 10 meters from the beach, usually measured at high tide. Walking Street's beach side is said to be under the umbrella of the Royal Thai Navy.

Military Junta exposed
On Saturday July 16th, the voters' lists on a notice board at a referendum polling unit inside Wachirasan Sueksa School in tambon Salokbat of Khanu Woralaksaburi district, Kamphaeng Phet, were pulled down and destroyed by unidentified person. Thailand's Military Junta quickly pointed its finger to vote no campaigners for the August 7th referendum on the draft constitution. On Tuesday Kamphaeng Phet police chief Damrong Petchpong revealed that an investigation concluded that two eight-year-old girls who were running around at the polling unit had pulled down the lists from the board and ripped them into pieces without knowing they were an official property. The Military Junta already planned to charge the offenders with breaking two sections of the referendum law. Section 57 on obstructing the operations of election offcials carries a jail term up to one year or a fine not more than 20,000 baht, or both. Section 61(1) on deliberately creating unrest carries a jail term up to 10 years and a fine not more than 200,000 baht, plus the possibility of having the voting right suspended for not more than five years. On Saturday Thailand's Interior Ministry instructed all provincial election committees to file a complaint with police to bring the offender to justice... Under an order signed by Pol Lt Gen Chanasit Wathanawarangkura, the Provincial Police Region 6 commissioner, Pol Col Itthi Chamnanmor, chief of the Khanu Woralaksaburi district police, was transferred to the Region 6's police operations centre, effective from July 18th for failing to report the tearing of lists of eligible voters for the Aug 7 charter referendum by two eight-year-old girls to superiors... Update (July 23rd): Reuters reports that Thai police charge two eight-year-old girls who tore down pink lists. Update (July 24th): About 100 (real) Monkeys tear up voters lists...
A report published by Bangkok Post shows how two simple - but important - words in the Junta's new Constitution can wreck Thailand's greatest and most important achievement: The 30-Baht Scheme, Thailand's unique Health Programme.
Gabriel Garcia Marquez claims that almost all Dictators (and their accomplices) are losing the contact with reality. Thailand's Tourism Minister Kobkarn Wattanavrangkul claims that tourists don't come to Thailand because of the country's sex industry. They come here for our beautiful culture, she says. You ever heard a greater stupidity from an Official?
Dictator tightens grip on media
Thailand's Dictator General Prayuth Chan-ocha gave his handpicked National Council for Peace and Order (NCPO) sweeping powers to shutter outlets, ordered to monitor broadcasts:
It's your fault if you trust Socialists
French president François Hollande, a trusted member of the French Socialist Party, pays his hairdresser a confirmed salary of €9'895 (about 386'500 Baht) a month. History shows since decades that the slogans of almost all Socialist Parties all around the world are nothing else than scams. It's your very own fault if you trust the empty promises of Socialist Politicians.
The Military Junta supports its Supporters
You scratch my back and I'll scratch yours:
Yuthasak Supasorn, the Governor of TAT (Tourism Authority of Thailand), announced that his agency would shifting the structure and directions of the national tourism industry towards a new value-based offer in order to position Thailand as a Quality Leisure Destination. Or in other words: Thailand aims to increase tourism receipts in 2017 by 10%. For Thailand's Officials the term QUALITY doesn't have the same meaning as for people from Japan, Germany or Switzerland... According to the TAT Governor, the country has enormous potential in sub-sectors such as health and wellness, culture and heritage, and the natural environment!

No additional submarine cable(s)

If you think it's a joke, you are wrong. Thailand is full of superstitious people. Read the full story. Update (July 11th): Superstition and spiritual worship are not strange to Thai culture. In this country, a belief in the supernatural permeates almost every aspect of daily life, Bangkok Post writes. Update (July 21st): Olympic squad gets holy water. Update (July 28th): Thailand's Badminton star sought spiritual help to make her dream of winning an Olympic medal come true.

Thai Officials keep imprisoned Slavery Victims

Military Junta wastes 600 Million Baht
Thailand's Military Junta spent more than 600 million Baht in a campaign leading up to Thailand's defeat in the race for a non-permanent seat on the United Nations Security Council (UNSC). Despite the huge sum spent, General Prayuth Chan-ocha and his handpicked National Council for Peace and Order (NCPO) attracted the support of only 55 countries against 138 for Kazakhstan. Obviously there are still some people in this country dreaming that our world loves Dictators. For additional information please read the report published by Bangkok Post
Don't let your children play on Pattaya Beach!
The Rats are back!
The rats are back on Pattaya Beach and our Officials from City Hall close their eyes. According to a report published by Pattaya Mail on March 11th, the City already launched a new offensive on beachfront rats. It seems the 'offensive' was launched for publicity only. The rats still enjoy a happy life on Pattaya's Beach and its Promenade...

5 corrupt Pattaya Police Officers suspended
Pattaya One as well as Khaosod English are reporting that Pattaya Police suspended 5 of its officers after fake prostitution arrest claim. It is an open secret that many corrupt officers are working at Soi 9 to enrich themselves. Let's hope that's just the start to long overdue cleanup. According to a report published by Pattaya Daily News, Pattaya Police protect the influentials and not their victims.
Incredibly Thai Police
On June 8th we reported that Officers from Thailand's Ministry of Interior Affairs raided Nataree Entertainment, a Massage Parlour on Bangkok's Ratchadapisek Road. They found a large Bribery List with names of different Police units and individuals and the exact amount they were bribed by the brothel. After the discovery of the Bribery List Deputy Police Spokesman Maj-General Piyapan Pingmuang promised the media that the case should become clearer by next week. Since that statement we didn't hear any news concerning the Bribery scandal. A usual procedure within Thailand's Police Agencies and the Thai media too. They never remind officials about their promises or ask officials for some results.
Update (July 18th): Since June 8th we are waiting for the promised facts. At least at the moment it seems that Bangkok's Police is protecting its black sheeps - or its whole organisation is already black...
But the best
is yet to come:
We update NightWalker's News Page as soon as we get new information.
Since General Prayuth Chan-ocha and his Military Junta launched their Coup d'état on May 22nd, 2014, Thailand's Visa ground rules are constantly changing. More over, not every consulate can issue all the different Visas. Some smaller consulates even display notices to the effect that non-immigrant visas are unavailable. Our advice: Before booking your holidays please contact the Embassy in your country to obtain information about Thailand's latest regulation(s) and check the Chonburi Immigration Website or the website of Thailand's Immigration Police.
Update (March 2016):
New Overstay Regulations
Thailand's new immigration policy will take effect on March 20th of this year. Please click for details!
Pol Lt Gen Nathathorn Prousoontorn, chief of the Immigration Bureau, informed the media that between October 2015 and March 2016 Thailand's Immigration deported a total of 486'947 foreigners who overstayed their visas. Another 323'575 foreigners overstaying their visas still remain at large. If the numbers mentioned above are correct, the Immigration Bureau deported about 2'700 people a day... Congratulation! Never trust a statistic that you have not manipulated yourself!

City Hall to remove Pattaya's Mobile Kitchens
Pattaya's Mobile Kitchens annoying Tourists?
Pattaya's new Big Boys claim that street vendors, kitchen side-car motorcycles, the homeless and beggars along the length of Beach Road and Walking Street are long overdue problems that have never been tackled seriously before. Therefore City Hall decided that municipal officers have to be stationed along the road for fining these people. City Hall said that all these people are annoying tourists and are harming Pattaya's image. We do not know one single tourist that execrate Pattaya's mobile kitchens. On the contrary, these kitchens provides cheap and tasty foods to local as well as foreign people and help to control prices at local restaurants. But the new Boys forget to mention Pattaya's motorcycle taxi drivers and motorcycle rentals occupying public parking lots, Chonburi Governor's stupid and unused Bus Stops, the City's thieving lady boys, robbers, muggers, Walking Street's sex show touts and Beach Promenade's drug dealers. These people are harming Pattaya's image!. Take away the mobile kitchens and you take away the character of Pattaya!

Was scheduled to open on July 16th, 2016, but that was too optimistic - and the Military Junta's new Regulation on entertainment venues opening hours looks not very promising too: Discos not located on Walking Street or on Beach Road have to close on 02:00!

Food Court closed
Walking Street Food Court, located just in front of the Stone House, closed. It simply was too loud to enjoy a snack. The owner allegedly opened a new food outlet at the still struggling Jomtien Complex.

The Gluten Free stupidity
Gluten is a protein composite found in wheat, barley, and rye, among others. Oats do not contain gluten but avenin, a protein similar to gluten. The most obvious sources of gluten are bread, pasta, breakfast cereals, flour, pastry, pizza bases, cakes and biscuits. Gluten can also be found in processed foods, such as soups, sauces, ready meals and sausages.
The Gluten Scam
Best-selling books tout gluten as the main source of health problems. Movie stars, television personalities and major sports figures all praise the benefits of a gluten-free diet. They all say it makes them feel healthier, stronger and even happier. It's a scam launched and financed by the industry! Reality is that about 5% of the world's population have a wheat problem, but a few of them only have a problem with gluten. Almost most of the people having problems with gluten suffer from Celiac disease. Celiac disease occurs in about 1% of the world's population and many of them are HIV positve. It's a proven fact that for those with Celiac disease, gluten is toxic.
The Gluten-free Food is a multibillion-dollar business
But what the industry doesn't tell you is that in excluding gluten, you are also excluding a host of nutrients that keep you out of the doctor's office.

Thailand's struggling Economy

Thai consumer sentiment at 25-month low in June. Export forecast revised down over global uncertainty. General Prayuth Chan-ocha and his handpicked National Council for Peace and Order (NCPO) claim that Thailand's economy will rebound in the second half, but obviously nobody believes in their words...
After Microsoft founder Bill Gates posted the picture published above on social media of the clutter of overhead power cables in Thailand, the authorities are finally embarking on a 51.7-billion-Baht programme to put 127 kilometres of overhead power lines and cables underground. During the last few years Pattaya News Flash posted numerous photos documenting Pattaya's infamous cable salad. We also repeated a few times that during a meeting at the end of March 2012 Pattaya Mayor Itthiphol Khunplome's Officials from City Hall informed the media they decided that on Wednesday April 11th, 2012 from 09:00. - 16.30, all sectors will have to check their cables. Unused cable have to be cut off, the officials said. If a division has more than 10 cables, they must bundle the cables together into one big cable for reason of safety of the people and the traffic, City Hall's new regulation demanded. As we all know, nothing ever happened to improve the situation. Don't be too optimistic: The 51.7-billion-Baht programme will be used exclusively in Bangkok.
Perhaps we should urge Bill Gates to pay a visit to Pattaya to document Pattaya's unprecedented Salad de Cables and the Legacy of Itthiphol Khunplome.

No Alcohol Days
Thailand's National No Alcohol Days include Buddhist holidays and election days.
On all oher days alcohol can only be sold between 11:00-14:00 and 17:00-24:00. Vendors caught breaking the ban are liable to a prison sentence of up to six months, a 10'000 Baht fine or both - but local Police use their own discretion to decide which venues need to be visited and fined...
Don't start laughing:
Do not try to buy non alcoholic beers (available from Clausthaler and Oettinger in this country). The shops won't sell them during dry days. Some not even sell Soda Water, because Thais and their Police associate it with (Thai) Whisky... There's a sucker born every minute...

Samsung Electronics, the world's largest maker of smartphones and the second-largest chipmaker, said its handset business improved just as iPhone maker Apple recorded its second quarterly decline in shipments. iPhone shipments fell to 40.4 million units from 47.5 million units in the same period a year ago. Samsung shipped about 77 million smartphones in the second quarter this year, up from 72 million last year; but Apple topped Samsung in terms of profit. Samsung posted second-quarter profit of US$7.2 billion. Apple's quarterly profit came in at US$7.8 billion, down from US$10.7 billion in the same period of 2015.

Ringing Bells, the Indian phone-maker company, claims to have some 75 million orders for the phone that costs between US$ 3 to US$ 5 (depending on the sources). It was announced five months ago for 251 rupees (about US$ 3).
