  Free WiFi on Pattaya Beach
Pol Maj Gen Pinit Maneerat, the Military Junta's spokesman for Pattaya, announced that the city has invested 24 million Baht* to install a free WiFi system along Pattaya Beach for the general public and tourists.
It's the third time City Hall announces a Free WiFi service during the last 10 years or so.
The last two times TOT Public Company Limited, a Thai state-owned telecommunications company, was responsible for the (failed) service.
This time City Hall claims that they made a 1-year contract with state enterprise CAT Telecom Plc.
According to Pol Maj Gen Pinit Maneerat CAT installed 24 hotspots along Pattaya Beach, from Dusit Thani to the Bali Hai pier area.
To use the Free WiFi users have to register with their personal details. In return they will get two hours of free access per day.
For its Thai citizens Pattaya City Hall published an instruction to register (automatically?) - but not for the City's real breadwinner - the tourists.
*A spokesman from City Hall corrected the press release and said that the City has to pay 14 million Baht/year for the 24 hotspots.

But during the last days of November, we could spot some buses with new banners touting Route 5 and Route 6.
Nevertheless, most Baht Buses are still driving 'routeless' (and 'ruleless').

Who needs Sidewalks?
 Our highly educated Police needs sidewalks for their mostly unused booths of their traffic light signal systems.
Pattaya recommends its Pedestrians to use the nearby roads...
Parking is prohibited, but...
 Parking is prohibited in this area of Pattaya Second Road, at least as long you are not a member of Thailand's Military Police.
 Parking is prohibited on Pattaya Beach Promenade, but not if you are a member of the Pattaya Beach Restoration Team or Pattaya City Police.
Why would they care about pedestrians? Pattaya has hundreds of Motorcycle Taxis, Baht Buses, Yellow-Blue and Yellow-Green Pattaya Taxis and VIP Taxis.
Nobody has to walk in this Beach Resort!
 Pattaya Police Station Chief Pol Col Apichai Krobpetch told the press after a check of Pattaya's world-famous red light district:
There is no Prostitution in Pattaya Walking Street.

Pattaya's new Terminal 21, the city's latest shopping centre, is still a crowd-puller, even without a proper bike parking space for cyclists.

Lovingly dubbed 'Jewish Fashion' by myLady™, the clothes deface the bodies of Asian women.
Nevertheless, the new terminal left most of Pattaya's shopping malls in the cold.

Terminal21 is the City's utmost Airport Shopping Mall on Pattaya North Road
Incorrect Time Display at Terminal 21
 The watches at the ground floor of Terminal 21 display incorrect times for France, England, Italy and the USA. Since the openning of the shopping Mall on October 21st, the watches display the summer time.
Obviously the management of the mall does not know the worlds DST (Daylight Saving Time) or doesn't understand it.
To get the correct information about Daylight saving time please read this.
Be aware:Some World Clock apps on Android display incorrect times too!
 On Soi Bun Kanchana, about 100 meters from Jomtien Second Road, an all new Thai Food Market is scheduled to open on December 8th.

 On Soi 29/1. off Naklua Road, the Windmill Resort tries to launch a market place for the second time.
It's first attempt, called Mill Artre, failed miserably and was closed down at the end of 2016.

 The well-known Pizza Pizza by Yanee, located at The Avenue on Pattaya Second Road, changed the name and the management. The venue is called know Sergio's Pizza Factory.
Sergio Armenio was the husband of Thai actress Yanee Jongwisut.
 As announced last month, Lisa opened her newest Coyote Bar on December 14th on Pattaya Beach Road, between Soi 7 and Soi 8. It is called Lisa on the Beach.
 At the Beachfront of Royal Garden Plaza, Saras opened a branch of its sucessful Indian Food Chain. Saras is known for its pure Vegetarian or Vegan Indian Food.
 At the Beach Front side of Royal Garden Plaza William E. Heinecke's Wine Connection opened its Wine shop and restaurant.
The venue offers a wide selection of wine labels from all over the world and a wine themed restaurant with food starting from 279 Baht. 250 grams of Australian Black Angus Sirlon Beef starts from 699 Baht, excluding drinks of course.
A very nice Wine Chain with a completely outdated website.
  The Pattaya Avenue launches Food World
  William E. Heinecke's The Pattaya Avenue, the still ailing Shopping Complex on Pattaya Second Road, gets another new orientation by launching a Food World.
Food World is just another implementation of the successful Food Court concept, as perfected recently by Terminal 21 at its Pier 21.

Food World opened today!.
 Even though only about a third of the available kitchens are open, there is a wide selection of food in the price range from 25 Baht to 299 Baht.
Currently, most food is Thai, but that's not a problem because according to Thai dictatorship, Thai Food is World Food.
 The problem starts with the published opening hours:
   On Pattaya Third Road, the popular but infamous Mouthburi Pub reopened a few days ago. Police closed down the venue after a gun fight during a birthday party between Police and a Mafia Boss on September 15th, 2018.
 On Pattaya Central Road, a few meters only from the entrance to Soi Buakhaow, a Japanaese Style Karaoke Lounge called Miyuki is set to open in a few days.
 As announced last month, the Amphawa Market opened on December 1st on South Pattaya Road, just between Beach Road and Second Road.
 Tiffany's opened its Thai Market, an upper class restaurant and coffee bar on Pattaya Second Road, just across the revitalised Drinking Street.
 At CentralFestival Pattaya Beach, Oishi announces since a few months to open an Oishi Eaterium, a new definition of Japanese restaurants.

 At Central Shopping Arcade, located across Mike Shopping Mall and known for its Kiss, Food & Drink Restaurant, Pizzeria Romano had to make space for the all new Indian Hut & Pizzeria.
Pizzeria Romano itself moved into Soi 12, off Central Road (Pattaya Klang), and opened a small copy of its Pizzeria in front of a Hair Dresser and to the right of another Indian Restaurant.

 Famos, an Indian Restaurant, opened in the rooms of a failed Indian Dance Club.
The eatery is located at the entrance to Soi 14, off Pattaya Second Road.
 Workshopz, a Thai pub located opposite the just reopened Mouthburi Pub on Pattaya Third Road, closed down.
 During the Christmas holidays Workshopz reopened.

 To the right of the former Escobar eatery, the Three Lords Pub & Restaurant opened.
 To the right of Buakhao Paradise Guesthouse, a Bali Café opened.

As most Tomboy clubs in this funny City, The Tom 93 Bar & Karaoke had a short life. We reported about its existence in our September issue.

 Envy Bar opened to the left of Passion Dance Club.
  MJ Kitty Girl, the former bar changed the format: It's now an A Go-Go Club.
 China Tobacco Shandong Industrial Co., Ltd. opened a shop at the Beach Road entrance to Soi 6 to sale its well-known Taishan brand of products, including its Tea-Flavored Cigarettes.

 On Soi Yamato Honey Bar opened in the rooms of the formrer PuYing Bar.
To the left of the Bar, Scandic Apartments opened a Restaurant in the building that was the home of the Rising Star Guesthouse and Sportsbar.
 The Bhartiyam Restaurant opened to the right of the Visa2Britain shop and is serving Indian as well as Thai Foods.
 Last month we reported that Indian Palace of Curry closed down. The venue reopened in the meantime.
Obviously the management of this eatery has to learn too, that you will loose your clientele with simply closing down a venue without providing the correct information...
 On Soi Post Office, the now defunct Pumpol Fun Pub is on the Block.

 Workers are currently in the premises of the failed CoCoon Nightclub to create another Indian Club presenting dancing ladies from Russia.
Update (December 27th):
Kabila is the name of the Indian Night Club that will replace soon the miserably failed CoCoon Club at the entrance to Soho Square.
  On December 8th, Harem Club, an A Go-Go Bar, opened in the rooms of the failed Pheromone Club A Go-Go.
The club tries to attract westerners as well as visitors from Asia, obviously knowing that guests from the Indian subcontinent still prefer body massage parlours and their own discos...
 Champion A Go-Go, located in Soi Lucky Star, off Walking Street, as well as the bar area in front of the club, closed down on November 30th.
Update (December 11th):
Champion A Go-Go, located in Soi Lucky Star and known for its pussy tricks, reopened temporarily on the second floor of the building, once occupied by a Fitness Club managed by Tonys.
  Nhabann Fast Food, on the first floor of the Pier Disco, already closed down.
The venue had a very short life: It opened during October 2018.
Update (December 6th):
On our Tour de Pattaya, on December 6th, we discovered that the Fastfood Outlet has open again.
It seems that management has not yet lost all hope of success...
  Midnight Liqueur, a part of the ailing Midnight Bar Complex located on Walking Street, Soi B.J. and at Marine Plaza, closed down.

Thailand's National No Alcohol Days include Buddhist holidays and election days.
On all other days alcohol can only be sold between 11:00-14:00 and 17:00-24:00.
Vendors caught breaking the ban are liable to a prison sentence of up to six months, a 10'000 Baht fine or both - but local Police use their own discretion to decide which venues need to be visited and fined...
Don't start laughing:
Do not try to buy non alcoholic beers (available from Clausthaler and Oettinger in this country).
The shops won't sell them during dry days.
Some not even sell Soda Water, because Thais and their Police associate it with (Thai) Whisky...

Thailand's National Parks, Wildlife and Plant Conservation Department ordered that admission fees for foreigners at national parks throughout the country have to be 400 Baht.
Entry charge for Thai nationals remains 40 Baht for adults and 20 Baht for children.
To cover the inequity the local's prices are printed in Thai script only.

Update (published by Pattaya Mail): Problems with Jet Ski operators unsolved.  The boats are overloaded, don't provide lifevests for all passengers, are badly maintained and aren't covered by adequate insurance policies.
Pattaya's lazy and allegedly corrupt Officials promised to check owners, personnel and boats regularly, but they don't.   According to Pattaya Police, it is common in this resort that foreign tourists get drugged and robbed in their hotel rooms, apartments or houses by prostitutes or ladyboys.  Ladyboy Pick-Pocket Gangs are working almost daily on Pattaya's Beach Promenade!  Never wear Gold in Pattaya! Between 30 to 50 snatching valuables cases are reported to Pattaya's Police every single month. Eating is an inefficient use of time
