Joke of the Month
During February 2019 Officials on Koh Samui island 'discovered' a 'secret' tunnel near the beach in the Mae Nam subdistrict.
Although the tunnel was known to Expat Backpackers for decades, Thai Authorities said they only learned of it on February 22nd 2019.
It took a whole week for the highly educated Officials to determine that the tunnel belonged to Baan Tai Beach Co. Ltd., whose shareholders included westerners naturalised by Thailand.
In the meantime it became known that the tunnel was built sometime in 2005.
Obviously Expats and Tourists know the island better than the responsible Officials...

According to the Thai Military Junta, all venues must be closed on Saturday at 18:00 and on Sunday all day.
But thanks to Thailand's loop holes and the generous interpretation of the rules, some operators hope to be able to reopen their bars as early as 19:00 Sunday.
