Thailand's Dictator still belives that every country understands and is satisfied with the changes in Thailand.
Obviously the Dictator sees only what he want to see.
Don't miss Pattaya's Dry Days
Asalaha Bucha and Khao Pansaa are two of the most important religious days on the Thai calendar.
They mark the beginning of Buddhist Lent and will shut down a large part of Pattaya's bars, restaurants and entertainment venues.
Selling alcohol is banned on Thursday, July 30th, and Friday, July 31st.
Na Jomtien's all new

Spike from Pattaya Days reports from Na Jomtien International Airfield he just discovered after the successful landing of the first aircraft...
Long Queues at
Don Mueang Airport
Due to increased security measures at Don Mueang Airport passengers on domestic flights should arrive 2.5 hours in advance and international travellers 3.5 hours early.
Be prepared to attend queues stretched from the entrance of each check-in pier to the main entrances of the terminal.
Update (July 21st): After the newly imposed security measures caused hours-long delays Airports of Thailand (AoT) has dropped the regulation to ease the long queues stemming from an insufficient number of scanners.
AoT chairman Prasong Poontaneat said I was shocked when photos of long queues at Don Mueang surfaced over the weekend as well as reports that passengers had to wait up to three hours.
Let's hope the responsible people learned from the incident and will use their brain(s) before introducing new regulations.
Thailand's Big Brothers are watching you!
The Royal Thai Army as well as the Royal Thai Police are using hacking software to monitor mobile phones and computers.
The two organisations are able to monitor and control everything that can happen on a device.
For this people privacy violations is of no concern, Bangkok Post reports.
The Royal Thai Army and the Royal Thai Police are violating the right to privacy and freedom of speech.
For dictators privacy and freedom of speech are unknown terms.
Update (July 21st): A spokesman from Royal Thai Police told the press that we might have used it as a case study but definitely not bought the 10 million Baht expensive software from the Italian surveillance malware vendor Hacking Team (HT S.r.l).
Please read too:

Update (July 22th):
Thailand's Military Junta Leader, General Prayuth Chan-ocha denies spyware use for illegal activities
Fact is:
The Royal Thai Army paid € 360'000 to HT S.r.l. while Thailand's Dictator, General Prayuth Chan-ocha, was Army commander-in-chief.
The Royal Thai Police paid a total of € 286'482 to HT S.r.l., including an annual maintenance fee of € 52.000.
Conclusion
Obviously the Royal Thai Police as well as the Royal Thai Army have bought the software solely to be included in the company's list of customers.
No Democracy for Thailand
According to the latest revision of the constitution draft the ruling Military Junta will guarantee that in the future Bangkok's Elite and the country's Military will have the say in Thailand and not the country's citizens.

Dangerous Way to Walking Street
Dangerous Way to Walking Street

U-Tapao Airport:
Big Promises again
Vice Admiral Wasinsap Chantawarin, the actual Director of U-Tapao Airport, announced that the airport will be transformed into a bigger commercial airport to be the main hub of Eastern Thailand.
U-Tapao Airport will be expanded to support 62'000 flights and 870'000 passengers a year, up from about 10'000 flights and 100'000 passengers.
Vice Admiral Wasinsap Chantawarin promises to develop U-Tapao Airport into Thailand's 3rd largest commercial airport after Suvarnabhumi Airport with a capacity of 80 million passengers and Don Mueang Airport with 40 million passengers.
We heard promises like this for more than a decade.
We finally want to see some action - not just words.

Still 20 Baht
Pattaya Mail reports that taxi fares from the North Pattaya Bus Terminal to Beach Road have not increased and that a trip to Walking Street still costs 20 Baht and regular Baht Buses still charge just 10 Baht for set routes..
Anyone finding drivers charging more should write down the truck number and contact the Pattaya Baht Bus Cooperative at 038-423-554.
Myanmar gets Beer
Heineken announced today that it has opened a 53 million Euro brewery in Myanmar.
The factory has a total capacity of 330'000 hectolitres per year, will directly employ more than 200 local people and will provide 'happiness' to millions of people.
Myanmar is undergoing a rapid urbanisation and a brisk expansion of its middle class consumer base, the Asian Development Bank claims.
The fast developing country urgently needed an internationally recognised thirst quencher to satisfy the exclusive taste of the newly rich.

Imbecilic Officials?
On July 8th, Chakorn Kanchanawatta, District Chief of Bang Lamung, canceled a new rule for Pattaya's Bali Hai area.
It had been enforced for one single week only.
Obviously Pattaya City Hall urgently needs somebody telling its Officials that they have to uses their brains first before bringing new regulations into force.

Corruption at Thailand's Department of Tourism
High-ranking officials of the Department of Tourism had bought over-priced outdoor-exercise equipment from a favoured supplier and had failed to use the 700 million Baht worth of products properly, Bangkok Post reports.
Thailand is still cheating Chinese Tourists
Thailand's Tourism and Sports Ministry announced to crack down on Thai proxy agents working with Chinese tour companies selling zero-dollar packages, Bangkok Post reports.
Agents of zero-dollar packages pressure Chinese tourists into buying overpriced goods and services once they arrive in the Kingdom.
Don't be fooled. It's just an announcement. No guarantee that something will change.
No more Flights from U-Tapao Airport...
Thailand's disputed Department of Civil Aviation (DCA) forced Kan Air to suspend all its flights from U-Tapao's Pattaya International Airport to Chiang Mai, Ubon Ratchathani, Udon Thani, Khon Kaen and Bangkok's Don Mueang.
According to DCA Kan Air sold tickets for those routes online and over the counter with fixed timetables despite the fact that the department granted rights for charter flights only.
Kan Air started flying from U-Tapao Airport on April 10th, 2015.
Stupidity Squared
An 'intelligence team' from General Prayuth_Chan-ocha's handpicked National Council for Peace and Order (NCPO) is telling Thailand's struggling Prime Minister that an US agency was secretly instigating students to stand up to the military regime.
Please read the report published by Bangkok Post.
How to get Rich
Solar-powered street lights costs between 30'000 Baht and 50'000 Baht/piece but a local administration body in Samut Prakan had to spend 175'000 Baht for a single light.
That's the way some officials get unusually rich in this country.
Do not expect Quality Work in this country
Thailand's Office of the Consumer Protection Board (OCPB) reveals that complaints of poor-quality housing projects soared by 68% in the first five months of this year.
People without professional education and training do not have the skills to build a quality home.
If you don't like to run into trouble, simply do not buy a condo or a house in this country.
Higher Bribes
Since General Prayuth Chan-ocha's Military Junta has the say in Thailand, owners of Bars, A Go-Go Clubs and Discotheques have to pay much higher bribes, Bangkok Post reports.
The General's anti-corruption policy is oviously nothing else than Blah-Blah and/or an excuse to occupy powerful and well-paid positions with his own people.
No Recovery
Bank of Thailand claims that Thailand's economic recovery in May continued at a slow and fragile pace despite two successive rate cuts and greater downside risks are expected in the coming months.
Exports are falling by 5.5%, private consumption fell by more than 0.4% and imports dropped by 20% year-on-year in May after a 9.1% contraction in April 2015.
Thailand is in an abnormal situation, a former Foreign Affair Minister said without naming the real cause for the slowdown.
Since a few days Thai guests in Pattaya's 3rd Road pubs & restaurants are missing. About 75% of the tables remain unused.
Thai customers are running out of money.
Police News
Military Junta starts closing Bars & Clubs
Thailand's Military Junta Leader General Prayuth Chan-ocha on July 23th banned the selling of alcoholic beverages within 300 meters of universities and schools throughout the country.
Acting under the new order, Bangkok Police Officers raided two bars close to Rangsit University in Pathum Thani province shortly after midnight on July 25th and shut both places down.
The bars known as Bungalow and M.3/2 are situated close to an educational establishment and student dormitories, which is considered an offense under the NCPO's order about selling alcohol near educational establishments, Pol.Lt.Gen. Prawut Thawornsiri said. He is a deputy chief of the Thai Police.
As with many regulations in Thailand the booze ban is unlikely to be strictly enforced, as it would render bars and nightclubs in many popular nightlife districts illegal.
For instance, Khaosan Road, a favorite party destination for foreign backpackers, is less than 300 meters from Satri Witthaya School, and the notorious red light district of Patpong is less than 300 meters away from Chulalongkorn University.
Pattaya's world-famous Walking Street too is less than 300 meters from the City's School No. 8.
It's an unwritten law in this country (and especially in this City) that money can abrogate almost any regulation.
Thailand's Navy
Your Shining Example?
A Pick-up driver, later identified as Mr Somkiet Amornmukdakul, an officer from Thailand's Navy, collided with a motorcycle but fled the scene.
He left a 46-year old woman and her 4-year old daugther injured at the scene, Pattaya Daily News reports.
Update (July 14th): Police jailed the drunken driver, bail was denied. The case will be prosecuted by a Military Court. The 46-year old woman is still in ICU, a leg of her 4-year old daughter had to be amputated.
Lazy Police
Police in Surat Thani told the relatives that the dead of Nanthawan Wichaigun was of natural illness, not a murder, until a Facebook campaign forced the lazy police to investigate correctly.
On July 8th the police arrested the murderer of the 21-year old lady. It was her fortune teller, Bangkok Post reports.

90% of City Hall's CCTV Cameras are Out of Order
According to Officials from Pattaya City Hall only about 10% of all CCTV Cameras installed in the resort are working correctly.
City Hall spent over 100 million Baht on its CCTV System but the City does not have the money to maintain the system.
Just another waste of money by Pattaya Mayor Itthiphol Khunplome and his crew of babblers.
Update: We just learned that on July 7th Banglamung's District Chief Chakorn Kanjawattana recommended to install more cameras to solve the City's chronic traffic problems.
Pattaya City Councilman Sanit Boonmachai responded that the better solution would be to fix and properly maintain the cameras the city already has but added that Pattaya currently has no budget for repair work...
Strict Traffic Control?
During a meeting at Jomtien's all new Welcome World Beach Resort & Spa Pol. Lt. Col. Pawatchai Sudsakorn, a Deputy Superintendent of Pattaya Police Station, announced that Pattaya Police have launched a project to strictly enforce traffic regulations in the City.
Rather just making the offender pay a fine they should be trained instead, the Deputy recommended.
The problem: It's just a project, announced in a beautiful and expensive surrounding with no guarantee to be turned into reality - and therefore probably another waste of money and time...
During May 2015 at least 3'000 accidents happened on Pattaya's bumpy streets, many of them deadly.
People, Tourists as well as Locals, are driving and parking their vehicles reckless and are ignoring red lights as well as all other visible and invisible traffic signs in this City.

On June 18th, 2015, Thailand's Alcohol Control Committee approved a ban on alcohol sales within 300 metres of universities and vocational colleges.

Pit's Ultimate Drinks Test
I share my rooms with a (mostly lovely) Thai Lady and two Geckos.
When I open my fridge to fill up a glass of Coke the Geckos start observing my table. As soon as I leave the table they takes possession of the glass and enjoy the remaining Coke.
A few months ago an amazed NightWalker followed the procedure and asked if the Geckos drink Coke only or enjoy some other soft drinks too. I didn't know, but I promised to test the taste of my flatmates.
During the following weeks I carried tons of softdrinks to my flat: Coke Zero, Pepsi and Pepsi Max, Mountain Dew and all kind of Fanta, Mirinda and Est.
All my neighbours observed my suspicious behaviour and asked my Lady if her Farang is still OK or not. Only 'my' Geckos ignored all my efforts and refused even to test anything else than the classic Coke.
When one of my neighbours heard from the ongoing tests, he was interested if the animals at least would join his affection for Thai Beers and Thai Whiskeys and donated bottles of SangSom (Thai Rum) and Mekhong (also some kind of Rum, but nationwide known as Thai Whiskey) as well as cans of Leo, Chang and Singha beers
The Geckos refused his offer too.
The test shows that Coke is by far the most healthy drink available in Thailand.
I solemn confirm that my Geckos don't know to read any advertisements, don't follow any TV spots and don't get any money from the Coca Cola Company.
Update:
Eat insects - or not?
Eat insects
Just when I ended the drinks test with my Geckos, my Lady (not to be confused with NightWalker's myLady™) came up with the idea to test the UN's recommendation to eat insects.
She collected all kind of insects, cleaned them in hot water and fried them in Sunflower or Soybean Oil, Butter or Margarine.
The result: Our Geckos refused to eat any fried insects. They prefer the fresh ones. The United Nations as well as the UN's sub-organisations, including FAO (Food and Agricultural Organization) are telling shit only. These organisations waste our money. We don't need them.
The cows in my homecountry prefer to eat fresh or dried gras only and are healthy. The elephants in this country even eat whole trees and my Lady and I prefer Wiener Schnitzel, Bacon wrapped Pork Medallions, French Fries, Rösti (a Swiss dish consisting mainly of potatoes), all kind of Pasta, Fried Rice, Cakes (but no Donuts) and Coke. All this foods are not recommended by the FAO.
A recent health check at Bangkok Hospital Pattaya showed that we both are as healthy as humans can be.
Pit's report highlights the stupidity of information provided by international organisations like the FAO and (self-appointed) food experts. In the case of insects (or any other kind of meat) the data shown are based on raw meat, not considering the preparation of the food. The preparation substantially changes the ingredients and the taste of the processed foods.
Our world offers hundreds of different sorts of apples. Each one tastes different, depending on its consistency. But the information provided on the internet know one single universal apple only and don't give any useful information what will happen with the ingredients if we are storing, boiling, frying or baking the fruit.
Read the latest information published by Dr. Margaret Chan, the Director-General of the World Health Organization (WHO). She is even capable to blow up a mosquito into an elephant, ignoring the dinosaur in front of her.
All this organisations cost a lot of money but are producing shit only.
We don't need them!
Street Repair
Pattaya News Flash reported in its May issue from a try by Pattaya's Professionals to repair a persistent hole on Soi Photisarn.
Today we can report the successful comeback of the hole.
The procedure repeats every few month, not only on Soi Potisarn but all over Pattaya.
Nobody in the departement ever asks why there is a hole and why it returns.
It seems Pattaya's highly educated Professionals are not able to use their brains.
Update: On July 6th Officials filled up the hole the traditional way: Without stressing a brain.

Wheelchair Path still blocked!
On Soi Phaniatchang, also known as Soi Yume or Soi Carrefour, City Hall spent 3 million Baht for a wheelchair path. Pattaya's large-hearted road users are happy to block the path with their vehicles and say thank you for the new parking lane.
It seems that nobody takes care of the about 850 students from the Soi's Redemptorist Vocational School - not even our lazy police. They close the eyes.
PS: On July 28th Officials from City Hall inspected the area. They discovered that people drive their vehicles to fast in this small Soi and (as documented on this website since July 2014) are parking cars and motorcycles on the wheelchair way. Pattaya's Officials urge the people not to be selfish...
Update: On October 21st Pattaya Deputy Juneor Ronnakit Aegasing paid a visit to the area and saw himself that irresponsible people are obstructing the stretch.
Therefore the lovely Deputy Juneor arranged a meeting for October 24th to discuss the matter...
Nothing than empty words from Pattaya's Officials!
Obviously the 3 million Baht weren't spend to help the Handicapped,
but to fill up someone's pocket...

Pattaya's Professionals proudly present their Achievements
Thai Professionals are Perfectionists.
Nowhere in this World you can see this kind of Workmanship.
Since many years we publish photos from 'Pattaya's Cable Salad'. In the meantime it is known worldwide. Nevertheless nothing ever happened to improve the situation.
Not even after Pattaya Mayor Itthiphol Khunplome and his crew from City Hall decided during a meeting that on Wednesday April 11, 2012, from 09:00 - 16.30 all sectors will have to check their cables. Unused cable have to be cut off. If a division has more than 10 cables, they must bundle the cables together into one big cable for reason of safety of the people and the traffic, the new regulation said.
We do not know if City Hall's workers simply ignore all orders from their boss or if Pattaya Mayor Itthiphol Khunplome simply tells Blah-Blah to entertain the media.

Thailand's new Bicycle Paths
Thailand's traffic signs are STREETART - meaningless and made to be ignored
Bangkok Post reports that ignorant motorists park their vehicles on Chiang Mai's bicycle lanes to enjoy their picnic. In Bangkok garbage bags are blocking bicycle lanes.
Thailand's motorists still think they are the Kings of the Roads and don't have to take care of other people.
Nevertheless, almost all these Rowdies claim to be Buddhists.

Thailand's Military Junta has authorised internet providers in Thailand to shut down any websites with content that threatens the national security or violates Section 112 (also known as lese majeste) "in 30 seconds" without seeking approval from any authority.
The move is seen in response to a lack of cooperation by foreign media companies in removing content the Thai government finds offensive. For example, 2014 Google did not remove any content requested by Thailand's Military Junta.

The Kunplomes
Coup Leader
Military Junta Leader and Prime Minister Prayuth Chan-ocha pushed back general election promised for late 2015, saying that election must come with a new constitution and eleven reform areas. Therefore he can stretch election into 2016 or 2017...
The Dictator and his wife have declared a joint worth of 128 million Baht in assets and 654'745 Baht in debt. He said he could not remember the details, but all of the items could be examined and verified. I can justify my personal wealth, he claims.
On May 9th, 2013, the General sold nine plots of land totalling 50 rai located in Bangkok's Bang Bon district to 69 Property Co Ltd. The company has a British Virgin Islands address, was registered just 7 days before the deal and belongs to Thailand's liquor and property billionaire Charoen Sirivadhanabhakdi.
When Thaksin Shinawatra sold his AIS to Temasek Holdings, a company owned by the Government of Singapore, the very same Bangkok Elite called the deal a foulplay...
Selling assets to a foreign company is a legal way for Thai citizens to avoid paying taxes, but it seems it is a big difference if a member of Bangkok's Elite does the deal or a newcomer from Chiang Mai.
The Junta Leader ordered the media not publishing news about Thailand's former Prime Minister Thaksin Shinawatra. Dictator Prayuth Chan-ocha claims that Thaksin Shinawatra violated Thailand's law.

The National Security Agency has built a network that can access as much as 75% of all U.S. Web traffic. With the help of Great Britain's Government Communications Headquarters (GCHQ), they control whole of Europe too.
Attack is the best form of defense
Hillary Clinton has accused China of stealing commercial secrets and government information.
She claims that China is trying to hack into everything that doesn't move in America.
It seems that the arrogant lady forget that America's Gangsters from the NSA are hacking whole the world, including China.

New Zealand supports the Criminals from NSA

France a step closer to a surveillance state
France's Constitutional Council approved a law giving state intelligence services a lot more scope.
Under the new law, surveillance agencies will be able to use so-called IMSI Catcher, spy devices that record all types of telephone, Internet or text-messaging conversations in an area.
They will also be able to bug suspects' flats with microphones and cameras and add keyloggers to their computers to track every keystroke.
The agencies will surveill President Francois Hollande private love-life first
Let's hope the agencies will surveill President Francois Hollande's private but controversial love-life first.
NSA chief Admiral Michael Rogers declined to comment on the latest reports that the NSA implanted spyware on commercially made hard drives, and that it worked with British intelligence to hack into the world's biggest maker of SIM cards to be able to access mobile communications.

Apple and Microsoft are struggling
Current sales of iPad, iPhones and Nokia Phones are well below expectations. The products are simply to expensive. Most customers discovered that they can get the same result with a lot cheaper products.
We recommend Microsoft to enter the soft drink market and launch healthy Apple drinks - before Google or the Coca Cola Company discovers the market or Apple starts selling overpriced iApple drinks.
No other juicy fruit is healthier than an apple.
My mother is the best promoter of that claim:
She reached 92-year. Her prefered food was Schnitzel, French Fries, some kind of Satad and all kind of Sweets. She rejected to eat any vegetables but insisted to drink an Apple Juice/day.

Analog Pleasure
Spike from Pattaya Days claims that using an analog camera without menus, battery, and options other than allowing you to set focus, exposure and shutter speed gives a lot more pleasure than using one of these sophisticated digital cameras.
A successful insertion of a film cartridge obviously already produces indescribable joy and an increased adrenalin level.

Microsoft has closed its China-based handset manufacturing plants in Beijing and Dongguan but is ramping up production at its plant in Hanoi (Vietnam) because of the low production costs available in this country.
LG Electronics may close down its Shanghai-based production lines following a decline in profits and increased labor costs at the facilities.
Foxconn, the Taiwanese manufacturing group, is planning its expansion in India, building up to 12 new factories and employing as many as 1 million workers by 2020 as it battles rising wage costs and labor disputes in mainland China.
Foxconn is China's biggest private-sector employer and is best known as the largest global contract manufacturer of Apple's iPhone and iPad devices.
