As Expected:
Elections could be delayed until 2016
Sommai Phasee, Thailand's Finance Minister, has told the BBC that elections to bring an end to military rule might not take place until 2016, a year later than planned.

Update (November 28th): An obviously angry Thai Prime Minister General Prayut Chan-o-cha affirmed the press his intention to hold the next election within one year from now.
But it will depend on how ready the country will be, the Junta Leader added...
Don't share a bed until you are 25!
Military Junta:
Don't share a bed until you are over 25!
Gen. Prayuth Chan-ocha, chairman of the military junta, Thailand's Prime Minister and head of the NLA and the National Reform Council (NRC), has approved a new law that would bar university students of different sexes from sharing the same dorm rooms, unless they are older than 25.

Respect my Coup
I am not a Dictator!
General Prayuth Chan-ocha, the Junta Leader, Chief of his National Council for Peace and Order (NCPO) and acting Prime Minister of Thailand, believes that he is not a Dictator.
Nevertheless the Chairman of the Thai military junta has dismissed call for democracy from student activists who were arrested for protesting against his iron-first regime.
Don't ask me for democracy. Don't ask me for an election. I cannot give you that, the General said.
Thailand's Justice Minister Paiboon Koomchaya announced that the martial law will remain in place indefinitely after General Prayuth Chan-ocha told reporters that martial law was necessary to stop conflict and social disparity.
Bangkok Post published an interesting picture of the General's achievements during his first 180 days in power.

For the safety of our Tourists
Pol.Maj.Gen. Nitiphong Niamnoi, the Commander of Chon Buri Provincial Police Station, revealed that he created a Pattaya Serve And Protect Team and assigned its patrollers to inspect security of tourists on Pattaya Beach, Jomtien Beach and Walking Street.
The different forces will be divided into foot patrols, bicycle patrols, Segway patrols, golf car patrols and horse patrols.
The lovely commander hopes that the high visual presence of the patrols will deter street crime.
Let's hope the newly assigned patrols do their job and don't fall back to the habits of their predecessors. They socialized with the Jet Ski Mafia and other gangsters or simply played hours with their smartphones.

It's in the Genes
The International Ski Federation banned Vanessa-Mae, the internationally known Pop Violinist and Thai Olympian, from competitive skiing for four years.
With the help of five officials from Slovenia and Italy the management of Vanessa Vanankorn and the Thai Olympic Committee, in its capacity as the FIS member National Ski Association, manipulated the status of four women's giant slalom races needed for the qualification of the Violinist.
Scamming of competitions has a long tradition in Thailand.
Almost every local Beauty Contest is fixed as are many boxing events, football matches as well as song contests.
But Thailand's best know scamming is in selling fake Product and/or Brand Names.
Cheating other people or even international companies and organisations is part of Thailand's culture.
You can't change it, it's in the Genes.

Bang Saen Beach
Military Junta on the way to Pattaya?
After cleaning up the Beaches of Phuket, Cha Am and Hua Hin the Military started to clean up the Beach of Bang Saen, the hometown of Chonburi's Godfather.
Let's hope the military will visite Pattaya too and removes not only the mafia like chair operators on Naklua's, Pattaya's and Jomtien's Beaches but sweep away all the corrupt officials in this funny City managed by the Godfather's son.
Police News
Nothing else than Publicity
During the night from November 18th to November 19th Pattaya Police started a crackdown on prostitutes hanging around Pattaya's Beach.
The Officials arrested about 100 prostitutes, warned them, took their photos for evidence and fined each of them with 200 Baht.
As ususlly after this procedure the Police released them.
Pol.Lt.Col. Chinnawat Sisawas, the Deputy Superintendent of Pattaya Police Station, explained the crackdown with the fact that some foreigners had been drugged and robbed of their belongings by prostitutes. According to his view this destroys the good image of Pattaya (and its Police?).
Obviously our Police will never learn.
They do this crackdowns since many years.
It seems it never resulted in a success.
After almost every crackdown the arrested people get more aggressive.
Perhaps the responsible Officiers for these useless crackdowns should consult some real professionals - or should be removed immediately from their duties.
Sharky
Pattaya Police:
A Danger to Society
According to Police Colonel Supatee, a Deputy Commander of Chonburi Provincial Police, Timothy Ward, also known as Sharky, is a Danger to Society.
Instead to investigate Mr. Ward claims that 1 Kilo of Gold and 1 Million Baht in cash was stolen by Police during their visit to his apartment, the Colonel announced that he has begun an investigation into the Australian National.
Sharky - the dog lover from Pattaya Beach - a Danger to Society? Yes, perhaps he is a danger for Pattaya's corrupt and untrustworthy Police Organisation.

A Kindom in Crisis
Thailand's National Police Chief bans book without reading it
Thailand's National police chief Pol Gen Somyot Poompanmuang has banned the ordering and importation of the book A Kingdom in Crisis.
He decided that it contains anti-monarchist sentiments.
Pol Gen Somyot based the decision on articles reviewing the book that were printed in two overseas newspapers.
The police said the two articles showed that the book insulted and fomented hatred of Their Majesties the King and the Queen, the heir to the throne or a regent, and affected national security, peace and public morality.
The book was written by Scottish Journalist Andrew MacGregor Marshall, a former journalist with the Thomson Reuters news agency, and was published by Zed Books, a British publishing house.
The book was released last week and has not gone on sale in Thailand.

Jomtien Beach Road gets one way Street
Test will last one month only
Banglamung District Chief Sakchai Taengho decided to transfer Jomtien's Beach Road into a one way street from Hanuman Statue curve to Soi Chaiyapruek starting on November 12th, 2014.
After many protests the chief announced that the new system will first be tested during one month only.
Update: (November 13th): Ronnakit Aekasing, a deputy mayor, informed that Pattaya City Hall had suspended the project because it might affect tourism in high season. He also said that the number of police officers was insufficient to control the new system....
Tip (This is Pattaya): Announcing a project before using the brain.
Wheelchair Path still blocked!
On Soi Phaniatchang, also known as Soi Yume or Soi Carrefour, City Hall spent 3 million Baht for a wheelchair path. Pattaya's large-hearted road users are happy to block the path with their vehicles and say thank you for the new parking lane.
It seems that nobody takes care of the about 850 students from the Soi's Redemptorist Vocational School - not even our lazy police. They close the eyes.
PS: On July 28th Officials from City Hall inspected the area. They discovered that people drive their vehicles to fast in this small Soi and (as documented on this website since June 2014) are parking cars and motorcycles on the wheelchair way. Pattaya's Officials urge the people not to be selfish...
And that's the result!
And that's the result of City Hall's 3 million Baht investment...
Update: On October 21st Pattaya Deputy Mayor Ronnakit Aegasing paid a visit to the area and saw himself that irresponsible people are obstructing the stretch. Therefore the lovely Deputy Mayor arranged a meeting for October 24th to discuss the matter...
Obviously not made to help Pattaya's Handicapped

Wongamat Beach

Wongamat Beach
Wongamat Beach
In reality it is just another neglected, dirty and stinky place in front of large (and expensive) hotels and condominiums. When officials recently visited Wongamat they discovered that some contractors installed drain pipes and pools on the beach to prevent the water draining into the sea. However the pipes connecting the waste water treatment plant aren't finished:
The waste water flows directly into the sea. Happy swimming!
The Work of Pattaya's Professionals
The City's worst Street
About five years ago Pattaya's highly skilled work force 'redeveloped' Soi Chaiyapoon. It needed a few rainy days only to crack the work of these professionals. Since then Soi Chaiyapoon presents as the City's worst and most dangerous street - but fully ignored by Pattaya's Officials...
According to Chonburi's Surachai Chaitrakulthong, a former Senator, Thailand's plus is the availability of a skilled work force... The sponger doesn't know what he is speaking about.

Some people used the remainig construction to urinate, others to despose their waste.

On October 22nd Sakchai Taeng-hor, chief of Chon Buri's Bang Lamung district, announced that he ordered the closure of the Spicy Girl A Go-Go Club as well as Champion A Go-Go for 60 days because 'Security Guards' of the venues attacked a Kuwaiti army officer.
On October 30th News Agencies reported that a court closed both venue.
Nevertheless, a few days later, on November 9th we reported the reopening of Champion A Go-Go and today we can report that Spicy Girl A Go-Go opened its door to its 2nd flooor showcase on November 21st.

Coup Leader
Military Junta Leader and Prime Minister Prayuth Chan-ocha pushed back general election promised for late 2015, saying that election must come with a new constitution and eleven reform areas. Therefore he can stretch election into 2016 or 2017...
The Dictator and his wife have declared a joint worth of 128 million Baht in assets and 654'745 Baht in debt. He said he could not remember the details, but all of the items could be examined and verified. I can justify my personal wealth, he claims.
On May 9th, 2013, the General sold nine plots of land totalling 50 rai located in Bangkok's Bang Bon district to 69 Property Co Ltd. The company has a British Virgin Islands address, was registered just 7 days before the deal and belongs to Thailand's liquor and property billionaire Charoen Sirivadhanabhakdi.
When Thaksin Shinawatra sold his AIS to Temasek Holdings, a company owned by the Government of Singapore, the very same Bangkok Elite called the deal a foulplay...
Selling assets to a foreign company is a legal way for Thai citizens to avoid paying taxes, but it seems it is a big difference if a member of Bangkok's Elite does the deal or a newcomer from Chiang Mai.
The Junta Leader ordered the media not publishing news about Thailand's former Prime Minister Thaksin Shinawatra. Dictator Prayuth Chan-ocha claims that Thaksin Shinawatra violated Thailand's law.

Lenovo and Asus launch US$149 Chromebooks
Our correspondent in China reports that Lenovo as well as Asus (Asustek) will release Chromebooks using Google-certified solutions from China-based Rockchip in the first half of 2015.
Rockchip is a first-tier tablet application processor (AP) designer in China and has recently cooperated with Intel over chip design and the distribution of Intel's SoFIA chips.
The new devices are expected to be priced at US$149 and will have a 11.6-inch display.
China takes the lead on Smartphones
China not only produces most of the world's smartphones, including almost all of the products sold by Apple, Samsung Electronics, Sony Mobile Communications and HTC.
Chinese top makers Huawei, Oppo, Gionee and Vivo announced today to roll out ultra-thin smartphones. They will come with a thickness of only 4.75mm to 4.85mm.
Some models released by international brands including Apple, Samsung Electronics and Sony Mobile Communications came with a thickness of about 7mm.
The ultra-thin designs are not coming at the expense of performance. The new smartphones come with a new cooling technology that is able to dissipate heat more efficiently than ever before.

55'000 iPhones
Thailand's three largest Mobile Phone operators launched Apple's iPhone in Thailand on November 1st, 2014.
Media and the distributors claim that the network operators sold over 55'000 phones during the first day, mainly to pre-order customers.
In Thailand the iPhone 6 handsets are priced between 24'600 and 37'300 Baht. Price depends on the capacity of the installed memory.
Chromebook Success
While Acer, HP (Hewlett-Packard) and Samsung Electronics launch new Chromebooks, Dell, ASUS (Asustek Computer) and Lenovo will enter this market too.
It is said that about 80% of Chromebook shipments are supplied to the education market.
Chromebooks achieved a sequential shipment growth of over 60% in the second quarter of 2014.
To defend its market share, Microsoft will cooperate with Intel to offer subsidies to promote Windows 8.1 with Bing for entry-level desktops.
Since Chromebooks have already become a threat to Windows-based notebooks in both the enterprise and education markets, Microsoft is aggressively offering solutions in an attempt to suppress Google's rise in the PC industry.
If Microsoft is not able to launch a counter attack with its upcoming Windows 10, the software giant will be in serious danger, analysts claim.
