New Problems for Boeing
Yesterday the Federal Aviation Administration ordered inspections of Boeing 767 jets to check for problems that could result in a possible loss of control of the airplane.
Boeing has delivered 1'061 of this long-range, widebody planes since it went into service in 1982.
Boeing said it is working closely with the FAA on potential safety issues.
No Tourists from Japan anymore
The Thai-Japan Tourist Association said that all Japanese tours to Thailand are cancelled. 1.4 million Japanese tourists visited Thailand last year. They spend an average of 20'000-30'000 Baht per person.
Singapore Airlines (SIA) confirmed it will cut another 24 flights to Bangkok, in addition to the 19 flights already announced. Since January 20th Tiger Air has axed some of its flights too.
Say thank you to Suthep Thaugsuban and his Cronies from Thailand's Democrat Party...
Spike at the Zoo
Spike from Pattaya Day visited a Zoo and shooted some animals - of course with his camera.
10 million Baht a day
Do you know that Suthep Thaugsuban's People's Democratic Reform Committee (PDRC) has to spend more than 10 million Baht a day?
Armoured vehicles still in Bangkok
Armoured vehicles brought to Bangkok from the 2nd Infantry Division in Prachin Buri province for a parade of Thailand's Armed Forces have not returned to their bases.
They stay still in Bangkok and are prompting rumours of a possible military coup to bring Suthep Thaugsuban and his Rioters from Thailand's Democrat Party back to power.
General Prayuth Chan-ocha, the chief of Thailand's Army, wanted the vehicles to remain at the 11th Infantry Regiment in the city.
Army spokesman Col Winthai Suwari said the vehicles had been held back for other units to study as well as for training purposes...
Suthep, Thailand's Tourism Killer
Last week Bangkok's hotel's occupancy rate was only 20%, compared with 80% normally.
The numbers of customers at Bangkok's massage parlours dropped by 70%.
Pattaya tourist levels have dropped 80% from last year.
Say Thank You to Suthep Thaugsuban and his Cronies from Thailand's Democrat Party.
Hotels offer discounts to protesters
Centara Hotels, Novotel Bangkok Siam Square, Twin Towers Hotel and a few other ones have launched promotions, especially discounts on rooms, to attract protesters participating in the Bangkok Shutdown.
Election to go
ahead as scheduled
The election will be held on February 2. The government and EC [Election Commission] have no authority to postpone the poll from February 2nd, 2014, caretaker Prime Minister Yingluck Shinawatra announced today.
Dreamliner
Dreamliner problems still not solved
On January 14th afternoon Japan Airlines had to ground another Boeing 787 Dreamliner aircraft.
During routine maintenance engineers noticed smoke. Flashing warning lights signalized a battery fault.
Boeing says it is aware of the issue and is working with the Airline(s).
Boeing never solved the problem completely that grounded the entire Dreamliner fleet last year.
Currently 16 Airlines are flying 115 Dreamliners.
Boeing's dangerous Nightmare continues...
Life-threatening Students
Bangkok's Students and People Network for Thailand's Reform (SPNTR) announced they will close the entrance of Aeronautical Radio of Thailand if caretaker Prime Minister Yingluck Shinawatra refuses to resign before the deadline on Wednesday, January 15th, 2014.
Aeronautical Radio is in sole charge of all communications between aircraft and air traffic controllers in Thailand.
Uthai Yodmanee, a NSPRT core leader, said if there is any violence at Aerothai, the government must be held responsible.
It seems that Thailand's 'well-educated' students are even more stupid than the rest of the country.
Think twice before booking a plane from or to Thailand.
Update: January 15th, 2014
If Primje Minister Yingluck does not resign by January 15th, 20:00, the STR will block the stock market and the Aeronautical Radio of Thailand office. Any disruption of AeroThai's services could cause chaos for civilian aircraft, including domestic and international passenger flights, scheduled to land in Thailand, as well as those flying through Thai airspace, protest leader Uthai Yodmanee said.
About 1'400 flights land at and take off alone from Suvarnabhumi and Don Mueang airports everyday. More than 600 additional flights pass through the Thai airspace each day.
Let's hope that an incident resulting from the blockade will affect members of the Democrat Party and Bangkok's Elite only...
Think about -
before you hit Bangkok's streets!
Suthep Thaugsuban's demontrations are simply an attempt to regain power into the Elite's hands.
If corruption is the way of life in Thailand, it needs to be in the control of the Elite...
TiT (This is Thailand).
Please read Spike's analysis on Pattaya Days.
Coup is not a topic...
Army Chief Prayuth Chan-ocha claims a coup is not a topic, but he said the Army will protect 'The People'.
Suthep Thaugsuban claims he is The People.
Perhaps the General should clarify the Army's understanding of the term The People: Thailand's citizens or Bangkok's Elite.
A Criminal died
Ariel Sharon died on Janaury 11th, 2014.
He was a war criminal. But because of his power he never got prosecuted.
Nevertheless, he will get a lot of obituaries claiming he was a hero.
That's our world.
Suthep Thaugsuban Asian of the year?
Bangkok's media report that Suthep Thaugsuban won the Asian Society's Person of the Year Poll.
Most publications here in Thailand missed to report how this happened.
Read How Thailand's Suthep Thaugsuban Ran Away With Our Person of the Year Poll. The report not only shows that Suthep's supporters 'manipulated' the poll, it shows you too how Thailand's media manipulate their readers.
Leave Thailand immediately!
The Foreign Ministry of Kuwait has urged all Kuwaiti nationals in Thailand to leave the country before January 13th, 2014, and to call off planned trips to the kingdom due to the political unrest and the unstable security situation.
Thailand's Ministry of Tourism and Sports said that the number of foreign tourist arrivals had dropped by about 300'000 as a result of the anti-governent rallies, leading to an estimated revenue loss of 20 billion baht.
A trip in Bangkok will not take a couple of hours as it does now, it could be four or five hours from January 13th on caretaker Transport Minister Chadchat Sittipunt already warned.
45 countries issued travel warnings for Bangkok, some even for Thailand as a whole.

The numbers of Chinese tourists to Phuket will drop by 40% this month, despite that Chinese New Year falls on January 31.
Say Thank You to Suthep Thaugsuban and his 'Democratic' cronies.
Phuket is part of the stronghold of Thailand's Democrat Party in Southern Thailand.
Chinese tourists simply don't like rioters provoking instability and a political chaos.
Where are the Motorcycles?
On our first walk through Pattaya Beach Road in the new year we suddenly 'missed' the big motorcycles.
It seems all the bestowers of motorcycles had to free the illegally occupied parking spaces along Beach Road.
In most cases they moved the motorcycles into the small Sois connecting Beach Road with Second Road.
Let's hope they don't come back and let the badly needed parking space to Pattaya's citizens and tourists.
A BIG BRAVO to the person(s) cleaning up the street!
Update: January 9th, 2014
Today's check showed that not all vendors removed their motorcycles, resp. already brought them back. Some businesses still block public parking lots illegally with chairs or other fences...
Update: January 12th, 2014
At the entry to Soi 13/3 the big motorcycles are already back on Beach Road and are baring the parking lots. Obviously the business owner already found a (few) 'helpful' official(s)...
Diana ade
Diana Inn, the hotel that gave the name to Soi Diana, off Pattaya 2nd Road, changed the hands.
The hotel is now part of the Boss Group of hotels and is dubbed Boss Suites.
Let's hope the street doesn't have to change its name too: Boss Street!?
Not bankrupt
Thai Airways International today denied the rumours that the company is being bankrupt.
No Coup
on January 14th?
Observers believe that Suthep Thaugsuban, his People's Democratic Reform Committee (PDRC), Abhisit Vejjajiva's undemocratic Democrat Party as well as former defence minister Prawit Wongsuwan and former army chief Anupong Paochinda, both said to be close to Suthep, have a secret plan to lure Thailand's military into staging a coup.
Rumours say that a plan is under way to create a pretext for Thailand's troops to intervene: A small violent attack on protesters will be staged to set the coup in motion.
People belonging to the inner circle already contacted PDRC's astrologers, but they singled out January 14th as an auspicious day...
Suthep already announced that a coup happens as a result from the government's own faults.
Alert:
As during the preparation of the Army's last coup, Thailand's media are full of statements from Thailand's Army Leaders that the Army is not planning a coup.

Thai Army moves in heavy artillery
Thailand's Army announced thay it will moves heavy guns, tanks, helicopters, artillery and armaments into Bangkok this Monday night for the parade marking Thailand's Army Day on January 18th, 2014.
The army said people should not feel nervous about a military coup. Tanks are out for kids - not for a coup.
Let's wait and see...
Arrest warrants against protest leaders?
Thailand's Department of Special Investigation (DSI), also known as Thailand's FBI, said it will seek arrest warrants for 33 core leaders of the anti-government protests.

Democracy à la Suthep
Thanks to Suthep Thaugsuban one of Thailand's most popular Rock stars had to cancel his concert in Phuket.
After Sek Loso published on his Facebook page that he will support the February 2nd election Phuket's governor, a supporter of Thailand's undemocratic Democrat Party, asked him to postpone the concert.
When Sek Loso denied to postpone the concert about 500 anti-government protesters forced the cancellation of the concert.
Suthep's rowdies even 'closed' Sek Loso's mouth on his poster(s).
That's Suthep's style of Democracy - very similar to Hitler's Third Reich...
Singapore Airlines cancels flights to Thailand
Singapore Airlines announced that it will cancel 19 flights to Bangkok from mid-January to late February due to the political turmoil initiated by Thailand's Democrat Party and its rioter Suthep Thaugsuban.
The number of visitors from China and Russia has already dropped by 25-30%. Bangkok, Pattaya, Hua Hin and Cha-am are the most affected cities.
At a meeting with the Pattaya Business and Tourism Association the Tourism Authority of Thailand (TAT) even lamented a drop of 50% compared to the previous year.
The members of Bangkok's Elite wrecks their own country and ruin oneself. Bravo - truly clever and well-educated...
Update January 6th, 2014
Cathay Pacific and Hongkong Airlines also announced plans to reduce flights to Bangkok.
Tackle Obesity
The Overseas Development Institute (ODI), a UK think tank, says the number of overweight and obese adults in the developing world has almost quadrupled to around one billion since 1980.
According to the Institute's report, one in three people worldwide was now overweight. The result is a huge increase in heart attacks, strokes and diabetes.
Clever, joined-up policies are needed, the ODI says.
Therefore iScientist™, NightWalker and Pattaya's most famous Cartoonist Mike Baird decided to publish their ultimate and absolutely revolutionary solution for one of this world's main problem in our forthcoming April 2014 issue.
Deadly New Year
During Thailand's seven dangerous days (December 27th - January 2nd) 366 people lost their lives in road accidents. Drunk driving was ranked the main cause of the accidents. Most vehicle crashes over New Year celebrations involved motorcycles.

Healthy Seafood: Think twice...
Why you like to eat Seafood? Because it's tasty, or because of its (probably) high content of Omega 3 acids - or simply because you think that seafood is healthy?
Latest research on Seafood - as well as food from lakes and rivers - shows that it can be dangerous: The food is loaded with small, almost invisible, particles from microplastics. The fishes eat them with their daily intake. In the long term it makes them sik, and if you eat them, it will do the same with you.
These microbeads are a common additive in soaps, toothpaste, shampoos, eyeliners, lip gloss, deodorant, sunblock sticks, facial scrubs and other personal cleaning products. The micro particles are made of Polyethylene (PE), Polypropylene (PP), Polyethylene Terephthalate (PET), Polymethyl methacrylate (PMMA) and Nylon. Most of them are so small that they are slipping through water treatment plants and turning up by the tens of millions in the lakes, rivers and in the sea. These plastics degrade very slowly and become coated with poisons in the water like the cancer-causing chemicals known as PCBs. The plastic is working like a sponge. It can cause physical damage to the organism of any creature. It's not possible to skim the waters of the lakes to try to filter them out: Any attempt would scoop up plankton and other essential parts of the food chain.
Micro plastics enter all kind of organisms e.g. fish, lobster, bivalves, oysters, sea cucumbers, zooplankton and thereby enter the food chain. Eventually this could also affect human health.
Several companies already promised to phase out microbeads: Johnson & Johnson says it already has started. Unilever has pledged to eliminate microbeads by 2015. Procter & Gamble said it plans to stop using them no later than 2017.
Therefore there is a chance that your grandchildren can start eat seafood again.

Itthiphol Kunplome and his City Hall promise sh*t only
On July 9th, 2013, Pattaya Deputy Mayor Ronakit Ekasingh and Banglamung District Chief Sakchai Taengho announced loudmouthed that City Hall will start a crackdown on the makeshift businesses. They also promised the clearing of sidewalks to free parking spaces, including bus parking and large motorcycle rentals. Nothing ever happened, but Pattaya is ready to ASEAN - our babbling City Hall claims...

Do you understand the marking on this street bump in front of Pattaya's Police Station? According to City Hall's Officials it should tell Pattaya's Beach Road speeders that wheelchair users have the right of way.
Nevertheless, the signs are a stupid thing: The sidewalk on the other side is too small for almost every single wheelchair. The space is occupied by Pattaya's notorious motorcycle taxi drivers...

Bus Stops along Beach Road
Bus Stop
On January 8th, 2014, Chonburi's Province Governor officially opened 17 pick-up and drop-off zones for Baht Busses along Pattaya's Beach Road.
Chonburi's lovely Governor claimed that any Baht Bus who stops outside of a parking area will be fined and clamped!
City Hall's Officials were notably absent during the ridiculous opening ceremony. It seems they didn't wanted to irk Pattaya's influential Baht Bus Cooperative.
And, as you can see from our pictures, Pattaya's Baht Bus drivers can't use the Bus Stops and ignore the new regulation completely: All Bus Stops are already blocked by other traffic users. Pattaya's busy Police can't be seen. It seems they are not interested in fining any bus drivers...

As documented by above's picture Ice Cool Bar V2O already is announcing the street's new name: Waliking Street!
When asked about the reason for the name change, the Chairman of the Walking Street Committee said that Walking Street is part of democratic Thailand. Therefore everybody has the right to use the name he/she thinks is most suitable to promote (the qualities) of his/her business.

Bangkok's Police today arrested three navy officers. They were in possesion of three 9mm guns, 72 bullets, five magazines, two clasp knives, one bullet-proof vest and three VIP cards issued by the Students and People Network for Thailand’s Reform (SPNTR).
Their pickup truck showed an incorrect licence plate, but a license plate with a navy seal was found inside the pickup.
Rear Admiral Winai Klomin, commander of the Naval Special Warfare Command, later went to the police to show a document confirming that the three men were on assignment. He said they were investigating drug cases and all weapons were for self defense. The VIP cards were issued by SPNTR to facilitate their investigations and make travelling easier.
Perhaps the navy also has an explanation why their personnel drive their cars with incorrect licence plates and why the SPNTR already have the say in this country.
PS.: Caretaker Deputy Prime Minister Surapong Tovichakchaikul claimed on a programme broadcasted by the Television Pool of Thailand that the three navy officers also worked as guards for the anti-government protesters...

Thailand's Public Health Officials report that from December 27th to December 30th they inspected 204 vendors of alcohol in Bangkok, Nakhon Ratchasima, Phetchabun, Loei and Chiang Mai.
The Officials claim that they had to punish 63 of the inspected vendors for alcohol advertising and selling alcoholic beverages via prohibited promotional discounts.
The Officials missed Pattaya. In Fun City one single vendor advertised his product along Pattaya's Beach Promenade until Bali Hai - and he didn't promote his drinking water, his soda water or his soft drinks. The city was full of advertisements for Chang Export, a beer made of 100% Malt and 5% alcohol.
But, as it seems, Thailand's Officials like to punish small lawbreakers only and not Thailand's largest producer of alcoholic beverages.

Moaning Escalators
Last year the management of Pattaya's (in)famous electronic mall dubbed as Tukcom replaced its 'geriatric' escalators by new ones from a company allegedly called Kone.
After doing their duties for a few months only the 'new' escalators are already moaning as they are working for centuries.
But some people told me that the moaning isn't produced by the moving staircases. It comes from mistreated house-ghosts, they claim.
The Ghosts had a good life before Tukcom reactivated the then unused building and filled it up with unreliable copycat products - mostly ignored by Pattaya's 'watchful' Police Organisations.
Kone is known as a high quality manufacturer of elevators in Finland. We do not know if the problem is based on missing or unprofessional maintenance or if the installed escalators simply are bad copies of the originals. In Thailand everything is possible.
Intel overestimated PC chip demand
Our view of the PC industry and PC growth three years ago was much more robust than it is today, Intel's chief executive Brian Krzanich claims.
The PC market was down on the year, we saw the market stabilize in the back half of the year with fourth quarter PC units up from a year ago, Intel’s chief financial officer Stacy Smith said.
Therefore Intel plans to cut back its global workforce of 107'000 employees by approximately 5% this year.
2013 was the worst year for PC shipments since the 80s.
Intel will have only a 1% share of the global tablet and smartphones market this year. Intel's chips are still to expensive and cheaper chips powered by ARM's technology are coming to the PC market too...
Intel on track with Nokia and Kodak?
Microsoft warns again
Microsoft announced it has decided to continue providing virus warnings for the ageing Windows XP operating system until 2015, but the feed of security information will be the only support XP users would receive after April 8th this year.
On April 8th, 2014, all other support for Windows XP is scheduled to stop.
Worldwide about 30% of all desktop computers are still running XP.
We recommend to replace Windows XP or any other Windows Operating System by a Linux based Operating System.
Samsung will flood the tablet market
Samsung will flood the tablet market this year with a large range of new products.
The Galaxy Tab 3 Lite at US$129 will be Samsung's cheapest tablet.
It has a 7-inch 1024-by-600 display, a 1.2GHz Cortex A9 processor, 1GB of storage, a 3-megapixel camera and Android 4.2.
The tablet will hit the market in a few weeks.
Samsung will offer several different sized models with 7-, 8-, 10- and 12-inch displays.
Samsung separates its tablets into three major series:
  • Entry-level Lite series
  • Mainstream series
  • High-end Pro series
Chromebooks are threatening Windows 8 based notebooks
Acer, Hewlett-Packard (HP) and Samsung Electronics as well as Asustek Computer and Toshiba will launch new models in 2014, priced between US$199-349.
Chromebooks already acquire a 25% share in the sub-US$300 notebook market in the US.
Chromebooks are running on a Google promoted version of Linux.
Big, bigger, biggest
The world's largest TV went on sale today for £100'000 from Samsung.
The 110-inch TV uses ultra-high definition technology developed by NHK and adopted as a standard by the CEA.
It can present native video at a minimum resolution of 3'840 × 2'160 pixels.
The end of OLED TVs?
Sony as well as Panasonic decided to end cooperation on mass producing OLED TVs.
The two Japanese giants will instead concentrate on the development of Ultra HD TV sets.
Sony and Panasonic were originally hoping to drive down costs of OLED TV panels in order to compete in the market against Korea makers. The two will not be able to mass produce the technology in the near future at reasonable prices.
A 55-inch OLED TV currently is priced around US$8'000 while an Ultra HD TV of the same size is around US$3'000.
Microsoft wants your money
Millions of Thai PCs are at risk by running Windows XP, Microsoft claims.
The lovely company likes to force you to buy a new operating system because they end the support for Windows XP.
But what to buy?
Windows 7.x is already outdated and Windows 8.x is overloaded with sh*t that nobody needs.
According to Microsoft there are more than 5.7 million PCs in Thailand still running on Windows XP.
We recommend to replace Windows XP or any other Windows version by Linux.
Download LinuxLive USB Creator.
With LinuxLive you can download a lot of different Linux versions, test them on an USB-stick and choose the one that fits your needs best.

President Francois Hollande
On June 9th, 2013, France's President Francois Hollande announced that Europe's debt crisis is now over.
The contrary is true: France is now seen as the sick man of Europe. France provides rising unemployment, weak growth, a disaffected business community, low productivity and high taxes.
Some 50 years ago my teacher already told me:
Stupid people make their living as politicians.
Francois Hollande seems to be France's proof of that rule.
