Foreign Media do not understand Thailand
Thailand's media attack foreign journalists over their coverage of Bangkok's crisis and of Thailand's politics and politicians.
Most media in Thailand are in the hands of Bangkok's so called Elite, the main supporters and sponsors of Thailand's undemocratic Democrat Party and its anti-government demonstrations.
If a foreign journalist does not share the view of this Elite his reports are unbiased.
Undemocratic Democrat don't join the election
Thailand's undemocratic Democrat Party decided not to join the February 2nd, 2014, election.
It seems the party can mobilise its mob on Bangkok's street only but not on the ballot.
Party leader Abhisit Vejjajiva, a former Prime Minister promoted by Thailand's military and educated in England, seems to have forgotten everything he ever learned in Great Britain.
Hotel occupancy rate drops in Bangkok

69% of the companies in the capital are calling on the government to guarantee their earnings if their businesses are hit by the political chaos.
We recommend them to send their invoices to Suthep Thaugsuban and the 'Democrat Party' or one of their supporters.
The anti-government rallies have so far caused more than 70 billion Baht in economic damage to the country. Foreign investors sold off shares worth more than 200 billion Baht since Suthep Thaugsuban's protests began.

Unrest in Thailand
myLady
and her neighbours say
Dissolve Thailand's Democrat Party and arrest the rioter(s)!
Mr. Suthep is an liar. He doesn't represent the majority of Thailand's citizens. The upcoming election will proof it.
Suthep Thaugsuban
Suthep Thaugsuban
2013: Former premier Suthep Thaugsuban has been implicated in the police apartment block construction scandal.
2011: As chairman of the National Palm Oil Policy Committee, he helped orchestrate a phony shortage of the commodity to force up prices more than 50%.
He and his family made a fortune from the increase in price, as they are major players in the palm oil industry and huge landowners. He also pocketed kickbacks from other major producers in the South.
2010: Suthep played a major role in the bloody crackdown on the Bangkok street protests of 2010.
2009: Suthep was accused of violating the Constitution of Thailand by holding equity in a media firm that had received concessions from the government. He openly accepted large bribes for police postings and shot down the posting of more deserving officers who refused to pay him.
1995: As part of the Sor Por Kor 4-01 land reform scheme, Suthep gave title deeds to 592 plots of land in Khao Sam Liam, Kamala and Nakkerd hills of Phuket province to 489 farmers. It was later found that members of 11 wealthy families in Phuket were among the recipients.
Wikileaks diplomatic cables from the US embassy revealed that many members of his own party have long complained of his corrupt and unethical behavior such as auctioning off cabinet postings both within the Democratic Party and former coalition partners.
Despite all his misconduct mentioned above, they represent a small part of a his wrongdoing against Thailand's law only, Thailand's 'High Society', Bangkok's Elite, are supporting the mischief maker with their powerful media and their money.
Suthep Thaugsuban
Thailand's Pied Piper
Thailand's Pied Piper says that all sectors of society including government officials and employees of state enterprises must join my movement and stop working for the Yingluck Shinawatra administration in order to get rid of the regime.
Once the Thaksin regime loses all its power, that power will return to the people, Thailand's storyteller claims.
Free food and water is available at all times at the anti-government protesters sites, as are seats, LED-displays to broadcast the speeches of the agitators and tents, to mention a few facilities only.
This all isn't free, somebody has to pay for it, including the allegedly distributed pocket money for (some of) the participants of the protests.
As journalists announced to published the sources of the money, the executives of the media acted fast and told the journalists directly or indirectly to what extent they could report on the rallies.
Nevertheless, it is estimated that the cost to support the infrastructure of the protesters is a lot more than 1 million Baht/day.
The bills get payed by some of Bangkok's big earners.
Some sources even believe that the protests are an excellent opportunity to white-wash money earned in the illegal drug-business.
To get rid of the current government also means to get rid of the current anti-drug campaigns.
We just learned that the protests of the more than 50 groups, formerly known as Yellow Shirts, cost more 1 billion Baht.
Suthep's CMD Mob disrupted CAT's internet server
Suthep Thaugsuban's Civil Movement for Democracy (CMD) cut the power to the CAT Telecom building and affected its internet server in Bangkok's Bang Rak at around 14:00.
According to ICT Minister Anudith Nakornthap the anti-government protesters cut the power to the CAT Telecom building as well as the power to the international server in the CAT Telecom building and its back-up power supply system.
The power cut left about 750'000 internet users in Thailand with no connections.
We couldn't contact our people in Thailand until late afternoon Swiss Time.

MD Mob
Suthep's CMD Mob attacked government supporters
Anti-government protesters attacked a bus and a taxi carrying red-shirt supporters on their way to the pro-government rally.
Police confirmed that one person had been killed and five people injured with gunshot wounds.
It seems that about 2'000 protesters of the Students' Network from the Ramkhamhaeng University are responsible for the attacks.
About 70'000 red-shirt members of the United Front for Democracy against Dictatorship (UDD) streamed today into the capital from all over Thailand for a pro-government rally.
I am the people
Anti-government protest leader Suthep Thaugsuban told Prime Minister Yingluck Shinawatra that he give her 2 days to return power to people.
The resignation of the prime minister and a House dissolution was not enough to satisfy the protesters, he told the press.
The anti-government protesters demanded that six free television channels proadcast a statement of Suthep Thaugsuban, secretary general of the PDRC (People's Democratic Reform Committee), the protest leader.
According to some journalists it was an act of dictatorship performed by a group of misleded people. The protesters' strategy was to seize all free TV stations to televise speeches made by Suthep.
Nevertheless, the self-proclaimed savior of Thailand got the chance, his statement was televised...
Now everybody in Thailand should know who is the 'people', except - perhaps - the most ignorant ones.
Jatuporn Promphan asked red shirts to go home
Red-shirt leader Jatuporn Promphan declared an end to the rally and asked 60'000 to 70'000 red shirts to go home. The decision is aimed to avoid confrontations and further loss of life, he said.
Despite of the deads former Democrat MP Suthep Thaugsuban is pushing forwards his now deadly anti-government protests.
Five people killed during protests
Red-shirt leader Jatuporn Promphan claimed four red supporters and one Ramkhamhaeng student were killed in clashes at Ramkhamhaeng last night.
Update:
On November 1st Police confirm: 4 dead and 57 wounded.
Suthep Thaugsuban
Arrest warrant for Suthep
Thailand's Criminal Court has issued an arrest warrant for anti-government protest leader Suthep Thaugsuban on charges of insurrection.
The charge is punishable by the death penalty or life imprisonment.
The Criminal Court has issued arrest warrants for four leaders of the Students and People Network for Thailand's Reform too.
34 countries warn
So far, 34 countries have issued advice to their citizens planning to travel to Thailand.
Hong Kong issued a travel warning for Bangkok, urging its citizens to avoid Thailand's capital.
The Dictator speaks again
People's Democratic Reform Committee leader Suthep Thaugsuban will deliver another statement to Thailand's citizens using Thailand's 'free TV stations' at about 19:30 or 20:30 or 21:00 Thai time (different sources tell different times).
Thailand's so called 'free TV stations' are mainly in the hand of Bangkok's Elite, which are the supporters of the anti-government movement(s).
The PDRC announced that it would continue with the protest until its goal of eliminating the Thaksin regime had been achieved.
Update: Rally leader Amorn Amornrattananon told his mob to wait for what he called 'good news' at 21:30.
Suthep Thaugsuban claims that soldiers are on his side.
Furious Police Chief
Thailand's National Police chief Adul Saengsingkaew got furious: It seems that some policemen are passing information about police strategy to protest leaders.
Thailand's Police are professionals and must respect our profession. We must not betray our profession. Any officer passing information on police plans to the demonstrators would be a traitor and should be executed, he said.
Rallies will continue
Suthep Thaugsuban and the Network of Students and People for Thailand's Reform (NSPTR) announced that the protests will continue until Prime Minister Yingluck Shinawatra resigns, the House of Representives dissolves, all members of the Shinawatra family leave the country and the 'people's council' is established.
We expect that Sutheps's next postulation will be the renaming of Thailand: Suthepland.
A Soap Opera made in Thailand
The Criminal Court issue a second arrest warrant for the anti-government protest leader.
Nevertheless, Suthep Thaugsuban delivers statements in front of his supporters and on Thailand's 'free TV ts'. We're going to take over the Metropolitan Police Bureau and make it the people's, Suthep announces.
Leader Sathit Wongnongtoey warns police: Do not arrest Suthep Thaugsuban. Think twice before doing anything. The Metropolitan Police Bureau is very near the Government House.
Bangkok Police Chief Kamronwit Thoopkrachang is inviting protesters to the Metropolitan Police Bureau headquarters. My officier will help you to remove concrete and barbed wire barriers, he promises.
Rally leader Tavorn Senniem declares victory after Kamronwit's invitation.
Democrat-affiliated Blue Sky satellite channel broadcasts live the demolition of the barricades.
The Centre for the Administration of Peace and Order announces that Police is missing two prisoner detaining trucks.
A Police helicopter flies over the protesters camp and distributes copies of Suthep's warrant(s).
PDRC leaders prepare balloons to deter police helicopters to fly in supplies to police units.
Soldiers from the 11th Infantry Regiment King's Guard rescue crowds protesting against the so-called "Thaksin regime" from an university compound.
Thailand's Army is considering a 'silent coup' and rewrites the constitution to honor Suthep Thaugsuban and to please Thailand's new Dictator.
Investors losing Confidence in Thailand

The protests will likely undermine investor confidence
(Moody's Investors Service).
Investors are getting increasingly nervous about political risk in Thailand

Major Battle on December 9th
Protest leader Suthep Thaugsuban announced Monday, December 9th, as the D-Day for people's fighting against Thaksin Regime and Yingluck Government.
The People's Army against Thaksin Regime and Dharma's Army announced that their groups would join Suthep Thaugsuban's major battle.
If we don't win, I will turn myself in to face the charge (mentioned above), the corrupt trouble maker told his cheering crowds.
Let's hope he will keep his promise.
Democrat Party urges its MPs to leave the Senat
Thailand's Democrat Party resolved that all of its MPs would resign en masse to highlight that the current government no longer had legitimacy.
Thailand's infamous Elite tries everthing to get the power back with the support of the countries big newspaper. They even are promoting one of Thailand's most corrupt politician to get the goal.
Suthep's mob hit Bangkok's streets
On December 9th at 09:39 (you remember, number 9 is the lucky number in superstitious Thasiland) Suthep Thaugsuban's mob and their supporters from the 'Democrat Party' hit Bangkok's streets to topple Prime Minister Yingluck Shinawatra's freely elected government and to move her 'family clan' out of the country.
Thailand's Prime Minister Yingluck Shinawatra dissolved the House of Representatives to pave the way for a general election.
Suthep Thaugsuban, the proclaimed secretary-general of the anti-government People's Democratic Reform Committee, one of Thailand's most corrupt politicians, a violator of the country's constitution and an unethical businessman, made it clear that a House dissolution, or a resignation by the premier, would not be enough to end the rallies - not until the 'Thaksin influence' is uprooted from the country.
General election is just what Abhisit Vejjajiva and his 'Democrat Party' are fearing like the pest.
It will show the world that Bangkok's Elite doesn't have the heavy support of the people the party and its media currently simulate.
Trouble maker Suthep Thaugsuban missed his target!
According to international observers only about 50'000 supporters of the Democrat Party are on Bangkok's streets and not the announced 1'000'000 demonstrators, but Bangkok Post saw 200'000 peoples. AFP counted 140'000 protestors.
Nevertheless Suthep's mob still ask the complete eradication of the 'Thaksin Regime'.
Rally leader Suthep Thaugsuban said that today was a historic day for Thailand: We should be proud of ourselves that this is the first time the people, owners of the country, reclaimed the country from a corrupt government with our bare hands. The people had achieved a victory to wipe out the Thaksin regime, Suthep added.
The Democrat Party and Bangkok's Elite know that they can not win any election against the Pheu Thai Party. Therefor the so called 'Thaksin Regime' has to be rooted out.
That's what Bangkok's Elite call Democracy...
It seems that these people are so stupid that they not even understand the meaning of Democracy - or don't want to know it.
Dissolve Thailand's Democrat Party
Thailand's 'Democrat Party' and its members are destructing Thailand, are hindering the work of Thailand's Government, drive away Thailand's Tourist and Thailand's international Investors.
The members and rioters of Thailand's 'Democrat Party' should be banned from politics not only for 2 or 5 years but for whole their life.
They are the enemies of Thailand's Citizens and Thailand's Democracy.
Democracy means derailing an election
Bangkok's Dictator Suthep Thaugsuban announced to do everything to stop the next election.
The self-appointed secretary-general of the People's Democratic Reform Committee (PDRC) still believe that he represents the People of Thailand.
Nevertheless he fears the verdict of Thailand's voters like the devil hates the holy water.
Military should support Bangkok's Dictator
A group of retired military officers have announced their anti-government stance and called on those on active duty to side with the PDRC, or at least make a symbolic gesture of support...
It seems that at least a part of Thailand's army still doesn't understand Democracy.
Update (16:00):
Bangkok Post reports that senior military officers rejected the call by Gen Boonlert Kaewprasit, alias Seh Ai, to support the People's Democratic Reform Committee.
They say that the leader of the Pitak Siam anti-government protests group acted on his own, without consent from all the former students he claimed to represent.
Megalomaniac Suthep
Megalomaniac anti-government protest leader Suthep Thaugsuban claims:
We are the people.
We are the power.
The Dictator warns Caretaker again
If Prime Minister Yingluck Shinawatra ignores the demand for her to step down, she will be forced by (his) people's power to do so, the self-proclaimed saver of the Kingdom of Thailand told the press today.
Caretaking Prime Minister does not step down
Thailand's caretaking Prime Minister Yingluck Shinawatra denies taking leave, she told the press.
Most of Thailand's newspaper published breaking news yesterday saying that Yingluck Shinawatra will step down.
The news were published in some international publications too.
Since the protests in Bangkok intensify protest leader Suthep Thaugsuban and his liars take every opportunity to hoax Thailand's media.
Death penalty for Corrupt politicians
In his latest speak anti-government protest leader Suthep Thaugsuban demands that Politicians convicted of corruption should face the death sentence or life imprisonment.
The lovely Suthep apparently seemed to forget that he himself is one of Thailand's most corrupt member of this guild - or he still believes to be above the law.
How Thailand's Media support Bangkok's Dictator
Bangkok's The Nation published an editorial that shows how Thailand's Elite use the media to make opponents ridiculous.
It's one of the must stupid and tendentious editorial I ever read in my life.
A Prime Minister has the duty to take care of whole the country. Yingluck Shinawatra doesn't have to be at the disposal of a sik and megalomaniac Suthep Thaugsuban and a dictatorial Elite.
Supporters of the anti-government rallies get probed
Tarit Pengdith, the Director of Thailand's Department of Special Investigation (DSI), known as Thailand's FBI, announced a probe into 20 financiers who allegedly supported the anti-government rallies.
At least 3 former Army chiefs support 'The People'
Gen Wimol Wongwanit, a former Army chief, ACM Gun Pimarnthip, a former Air Force chief and Adm Wichet Karunyawanit, a former Navy chief, call on the caretaker government to resign.
The unteachable also say that all sides should join the country's reform before an election and also called on the military to announce that they would stand by 'The People'.
Visitors of our page already know that 'The People' are Suthep Thaugsuban and his financial supporters, Bangkok's infamous Elite.
Plain Stupidity
Thailand's Democrat Party, the home of the country's dubious anti-government demonstrators, fears public backlash if it boycotts election, but knows it will lose seats if it runs the February 2th's general election.
Suvarnabhumi and Don Mueang airports are missing passengers. The political unrest is the main reasons behind the decline.
Thai rice can't find buyers. The international community moved to Vietnam. We don't eat rice from corrupt ricemillers and supporters of stupid politicians.
Suthep Thaugsuban, the leader of Thailand's Hooligans?
UN Secretary General Ban Ki Moon said that Suthep Thaugsuban's plan to march to Prime Minister Yingluck Shinawatra's residence is an act of hooliganism.
Ban Ki Moon warned the protesters that any actions that go against democracy will send the country backwards.
In addition to the United Nations, 50 countries have expressed concern at the political chaos in Thailand so far.
Suthep Thaugsuban, the leader of Thailand's so called Hooligans, earlier harassed Yingluck's son and is now planning to send female protesters to intimidate Yingluck at her house.
Deputy Government Spokeswoman Sunisa Lertpakawat asked the protest leader to stop harassing caretaker Prime Minister Yingluck Shinawatra and her family.
Caretaker Prime Minister Yingluck Shinawatra herself called on protesters not to break the laws when they rally outside her house.
DSI will freeze PDRC's bank accounts
Thailand's Department of Special Investigation (DSI), the Kingdom's FBI, announced that it would freeze the bank accounts of 18 leaders of the anti-government People's Democratic Reform Committee. Furthermore it will ask the banks to hand over all transaction details over the past six months.
The DSI also reports that it will summon 18 PDRC leaders for questioning.
They have to report to the DSI on December 26th and 27th.
But Bangkok Post reported on December 18th that police investigators met to discuss the arrest of Mr Suthep and concluded that the summons for the ex-Democrat MP would not be issued yet to avoid possible confrontation with the protesters, despite the Metropolitan Police Bureau (MPB) has issued a warrant for Mr Suthep's arrest...
The Dictator shows his understanding of Democracy
Monday, December 23rd, 2013, is the application day for all election candidates.
Suthep Thaugsuban, the self-proclaimed leader of the People's Democratic Reform Committee (PDRC), announced that he and his mob will block the Thai-Japanese Stadium in Din Daeng district to prevent candidates from entering it.
Instead of the announced 3 million protesters, only tens of thousands people joined his mass rally on Sunday, December 22nd.
Nevertheless, big mouth Suthep Thaugsuban declared the massive number of protesters showed that everybody wanted political reform to take place before the next election, and the people want caretaker Prime Minister Yingluck Shinawatra to resign.
If Yingluck and the caretaker cabinet will not resign, people will join the protests again and again to force them from their posts. We are ready to block (roads) for seven to ten days, he said.
Security agencies estimated that about 270'000 protesters joined the rallies, but Bangkok's big mouth Suthep saw 3.5 million people...
Suthep Thaugsuban needs a doctor - URGENTLY!
In a fiery speech on December 22nd Suthep Thaugsuban, the self-proclaimed leader of the People's Democratic Reform Committee (PDRC), told his audiences because Yingluck clings to her prime minister's seat, we must come out to chase her. We will keep chasing her until she is dead or until she leaves.
If the election still goes ahead on February 2nd (2014), we will shut down the entire country and no one will vote, Bangkok's Dictator said.
This man seems to be sick and needs a doctor - or a room an a nuthouse...
Bangkok's Dictator threatens again
If Prime Minister and Defence Minister Yingluck Shinawatra has not resigned, Bangkokians will not be able to go to the polls, because we will shut down the entire city on Feb 2. The EC (Election Commision) cannot sue us for obstructing the election because we will not be shutting down the city to hinder the election, but to evict Yingluck, Suthep Thaugsuban said.
He also said that the people had expressed their wish in not wanting the Feb 2 general election to take place unless political reforms are made first by the two-day rally at the registration venue. The protest was only a prelude to more opposition planned against the polls.
The self-proclaimed leader of the People's Democratic Reform Committee (PDRC) still believe that he speaks for Thailand's citizens. So why he is fearing the election? If he should win, he would be able to realise his (stupid) ideas.
But Suthep Thaugsuban already knows that the majority of Thailand's voters don't will choose him and his party's dictatorship.
So why he still speaks in the name of Thailand's people?
Miss Chitpas Bhirombhakdi, a member of the owners of Singha beer brewery, and an anti-government leader herself explained it a few days ago: We're not taking away democracy. We just need some time to reform the country before we can move on to democracy. The problem is that many Thais lack a true understanding of democracy - especially in the rural areas. The 'well educated lady' damned every single rural voter as an idiot.
Therefore we assume that only supporters of Suthep Thaugsuban and Thailand's Democrat Party can be called people...
Protesters are using force.
Some protesters harassed and attacked reporters covering the blockade of the election candidacy registration process.
Other protesters stormed the office of the Department of Special Investigation. They wanted to see the evidence behind charges levied at their leaders.
Suthep Thaugsuban, the dictator, announced that protesters nationwide would shut down the country on election day to block people exercising their right to vote.
Miss Chitpas Bhirombhakdi damned every single rural voter as an idiot.
The 35-year old driver of Satit Pitutecha, a member of the Democrat Party and a former Rayong MP, threw firecrackers at Din Daeng's police station during the ongoing anti-government protests.
Coordinator Uthai Yodmanee of the anti-government Student and People Network for Thailand's Reform (SPNTR) blocked the election candidacy registration venue at the Thai-Japanese Stadium and declared with the help of a powerful loudspeaker system that the people are the ones who will call the election, not the politicians. We want the EC to call off the election. It is not legitimate.
Uthai Yodmanee forget that he doesn't have the legitimation to speak on behalf of Thailand's citizens. He only has the support of his very own undemocratic mob.
Democracy, freedom and human rights trampled underfoot
Once again Suthep Thaugsuban, the Dictator of Bangkok, and his mob are trampling democracy, freedom and human rights underfoot.
Suthep Thaugsuban's protesters invaded and destroyed government property and obstructed the election process at the stadium in Bangkok's Din Daeng area.
The Election Commission (EC) organised the drawing of ballot sheet numbers for the party-list system in the planned Feb 2 election. Thirty political parties which had applied to contest the general election.
Outside the building, chaos reigned as protesters of the Network of Students and People for Reform of Thailand (SRT) tried to disrupt the process.
Police used water cannons, tear gas and rubber bullets against the law breaking anti-government protesters.
Four Police were injured by bullets and ping pong bombs, allegedly fired by rioters.
Police Sergeant Major Narong Pitisit died. He was shot at his right chest with live bullet and suffered from severe blood loss.
Four schools in the area had to be closed because of the clashes.
Miss Anchalee Paireerak, a TV anchor and Bangkok radio host, is leading a number of People's Democratic Reform Committee (PDRC) protesters to house of Prime Minister Yingluck Shinawatra in Soi Yothin Pattana 3 of Bangkok. The protesters are travelling on six-wheel trucks with food, water and medical supplies.

The real face
Thailand's new Dictator
shows his real intention
Thai newspapers report on December 11th that Suthep Thaugsuban threatened the Shinawatra families by saying if Thailand's Prime Minister Yingluck Shinawatra doesn't step down within the next three days, people in the Shinawatra family won't find any happiness in their lives (anymore).
He and his PDRC (People's Democratic Reform Committee) also ordered Thailand's Police Officers to return to their normal duties within 12 hours.
The military is asked to deploy for security purpose at state offices instead, Thailand's self-proclaimed dictator said.
His attempts to intimidate the Shinawatra clan reminds of procedures used by (Italian's) Mafia, Asia's Yakuza and other international and local Gangster Organisations.
Suthep Thaugsuban and his PDRC are supported by Thailand's Democrat Party and Thailand's former Prime Minister Abhisit Vejjajiva.
On December 10th, a group of independent scholars, known as the assembly for the Defence of Democracy (AFDD), called on anti-government protesters to abandon attempts to push for the establishment of a fascist People's Council and instead express their political views through democratic elections.
Suthep Thaugsuban will not be able to report to prosecutors. Mr Suthep has appointed a lawyer to apply to prosecutors for a postponement of a formally indictment in connection with deaths and injuries in the military crackdown on protesters during the 2010 political violence. He doesn't have the time for the prosecutors, he is fully engaged in the PDRC's operations, PDRC core member Thaworn Senneam said on December 11th, 2013.
It seems that Suthep's connections and the support of Bangkok's Elite give him the feeling to be above Thailand's law(s).

Pattaya Countdown 2014
The people behind the event launched a website. On December 11th, 2013, we still couldn't get more information than what you can see on this advertisement...
It's just another proof that the Khunploem Brothers don't know to run a tourist destination.
Pattaya Countdown 2014
The Show Schedule on Bali Hai tells that the activities start daily at (about) 19:00, with a firework at 20:45 and live music at 21:00. At 22:00 Pattaya City Hall presents a Cultural Show and at 22:30 the concerts with popular Thai bands and singers start.
Pattaya's Countdown will be supported by a large market on Pattaya's New Beach Promenade and on Bali Hai. Motorists are warned: Pattaya City provides very limited parking opportunities and Pattaya's Automatic Parking House on Bali Hai is still not ready to use. We anticipate that motorists have to wait another year until they can disrupt Bali Hai's Countdown with their cars...
For Newbies: Pattaya's new Automatic Parking House separates Walking Street and Bali Hai's Showcase. A foolish act staged by Pattaya's clever City Hall.
Pattaya Mayor Itthiphol Kunplome promised that this year's festival will be arranged better than in previous years. This year’s style of activity will be the combination of applied arts and culture that emphasise on Thai tradition. The festival will last for 7 days 7 nights, he said. The Organisers are expecting that 800'000-1 million tourists will attend the events.
Pattaya Countdown 2014
The Pattaya Countdown Market starts at the begining of Pattaya's Beach Road in North Pattaya and ends at the Bali Hai showcase, interrupted only by Walking Street's famous Flesh Market.
Chang
The Countdown is under the Regime of the two Elepants.
You can drink Beer Chang, Federbräu or Archa only in the Countdown area.
No Coke, no Pepsi, no Mirinda and no Fanta. If tou are a non-alcoholic, your choice is EST. Not that 'The People' prefer EST over the other drinks, but Thai Beverage Ltd., owned by Charoen Sirivadhanabhakdi, Thailand's second-richest man and the distributor of Chang Beers is also the major shareholder of Serm Suk Pcl, the producer of EST softdrinks.
If you like one of the tasty softdrinks mentioned above you have to look out for a nearby 7-Eleven or a Family Mart, Thailand's well-known Mini Markets...
No Beer is like Chang Beer
Beer lovers around the world know Germany's Beer Purity Law (Reinheitsgebot). It stipulates that only barley, hops, and water may be used to make the brew.
Therefore, at least according the Reinheitsgebot, the original Chang Beer is not a beer.
Beer Chang (Thai slang) is brewed using malt, rice, hop, natural water and some selected yeast - as many of today's mass-produced industrial beers in the rest of the world.
A lot of Belgium and British beers even contain (added) sugar and unmalted grains.
Most beers, but not the ones from Germany, contain chemical additives and stabilizers.
Chang Export, the company's Premium Beer, is brewed without rice.
If you need some more information about beer and how it is made please read the articles published by the German Beer Institute as well as Wikipedia's German Beer and Wikipedia's story about the Reinheitsgebot.

Tesco/Lotus
History
The Charoen Pokphand Group (C.P.Group) is the largest company in Thailand not owned by the State.
The revenues of the group are about 10% over Thailand's GDP (Gross domestic product).
It was founded in 1921 by Chinese immigrant brothers Chia Ek Chor and Chia Siew Whooy. They imported seeds and vegetables from China and exported pigs and eggs to Hong Kong.
Their sons Jaran Chiaravanont and Montri Jiaravanont added vegetable seeds and animal feed.
Under Dhanin Chearavanont, currently Thailand's richest man, the group integrated livestock farming. The company has a virtual monopoly on the supply of chicken and eggs in Thailand.

Not amazed
A husband and wife were sentenced to 15 years in prison after going to pick wild mushrooms in a national forest reserve in Kalasin.
Three former district garbage collectors working for Makham Tao Tambon Administration Organisation (TAO) were jailed for nearly three months for a drug crime they did not commit.
But Suthep Thaugsuban, the leader of Bangkok's anti-government protesters is still at large, despite ignoring an indictment session of Thailand's Criminal Court and two arrest warrants.
Nevertheless, the agitator appeares daily on Thailand's TV stations...
Amazing Police
Thailand's National Police Chief Pol Gen Adul Saengsingkaew says he could have faced criminal charges if he had attended the meeting on December 14th between military top brass and anti-government protest leaders.
He skipped the meeting with People's Democratic Reform Committee (PDRC) members because PDRC leader Suthep Thaugsuban faces an arrest warrant for insurrection.
'If I took part in this meeting and didn't make the arrest, I would be violating Section 157 of the Criminal Code for negligence of duty', Thailand's National Police Chief told the press.
Farang's do not understand why a criminal searched by two arrest warrants (at least) can terrorize whole a country. Why the Police do not arrest Suthep Thaugsuban? Why the Police hesitate even if they have the opportunity? Are 'connections' and 'money' more important in this country than proven criminal records? In the eyes of Farangs, as well as most Thais in my area, Thailand's National Police Chief acts negligent every day as long he is not arresting Bangkok's trouble maker.
Believe it or not!
On November 26th Thailand's Criminal Court issued an arrest warrant against Suthep Thaugsuban, Thailand's anti-government protest leader, for orchestrating the occupation of government ministries.
Suthep continued his protests unhampered under the watchful eyes of journalists, TV & security cameras and Thailand's Police and Military Forces. No arrest was made.
On December 2nd Thailand's Criminal Court issued another arrest warrant against Suthep Thaugsuban on rebellion charges.
According to Chayut Thanataweerat, a deputy metropolitan police commander, the charge of insurrection shall be punished with death or life imprisonment.
No arrest happened until today. The firebrand protest leader remaines defiant amidst hundreds of journalists, TV & security cameras and Thailand's Police and Military Forces.
According to Thailand's law and judicature everybody gets the same treatment.
Believe it or not, but think twice before you invest your money.

Don't fine Google!
Fine the NSA, the GCHQ, Great Britain and the USA!
On December 19th, 2013, Spain's privacy watchdog fined Google for breaking the country's data protection law.
Google has to pay 900'000 euro ($1.23 million) for failing to inform users clearly on how it uses their data collected from its many different online services.
France fined the Internet giant in September for the same reason, while during November the Dutch Data Protection Authority concluded Google was in breach of the national data privacy law.
At least three other European countries are trying to consilidate their public sector deficits in the very same way.
We recommend: Fine the NSA, the GCHQ, Great Britain and the USA! They really are breaking every country's data protection law and never informed anybody about their criminal acts.

Intel fights back
Intel will launch entry-level Android-supporting chip sets specifically for use in 7-inch tablets priced at US$99-129 and 7- to 8-inch models at US$149-199 in first-quarter 2014 as well as platforms targeting 8- to 10-inch tablets priced at US199-249 and 10-inch models above US$249.
During September 2014 the manufacturer will unveil a platform supporting 32- and 64-bit Windows 8/8.1 as well as Android operating systems.
Intel also announced to launch chip sets for smartphones in the first- and third-quarter 2014.

New USB Connector
The USB 3.0 Promoter Group announced a new USB connector, dubbed as USB Type-C.
The new connector is being developed to help enable thinner and sleeker product designs, enhance usability and provide a growth path for performance enhancements for future versions of USB and its users will no longer need to be concerned with plug orientation or cable direction, Alex Peleg, the spokesman of Intel said.
The USB Type-C connector, delivering data, power and video, is the only connector one will need across all devices. It will enable an entirely new super thin class of devices from phones to tablets, Alex Peleg added.
2016 you will see the new connectors in the shops...
Free WiFi at Thailand's Airports?
Airports of Thailand Plc (AoT) announces free WiFi on all six airports the state-controlled firm runs in this country.
According to AoT, Don Mueang and Chiang Mai airports already started the service, dubbed as complimentary WiFi, on December 1st.
Airports at Phuket, Hat Yai and Chiang Rai should be ready to offer the service on January 1st, 2014.
Because of the complexity and the size of Thailand's gateway airport, Suvarnabhumi will be the last to introduce WiFi on March 1st, 2014.
AoT runs the service in collaboration with True Corporation.
It is said that the system can link 2'000 users at any givem time. Two hours a day are free at 10 Mbps, but you have to register with your Thai ID or passport number to obtain a username and password at TrueMove H.
A AoT Free WiFi by TrueMove H sign indicates the WiFi areas in the airport(s).
Believe it or not: Aot even claims that its WiFi service is superior to that on offer at other major Asian airports in terms of speed and usage time...

Germany has about 82 million habitants and about 400'000 prostitutes.
Thailand has about 68 million habitants. But the published number of prostitutes in Thailand is inconsistent.
While Thailand's Government claims that there were 76'000 to 77'000 adult prostitutes in registered entertainment establishments, NGOs believed there were between 200'000 and 300'000 prostitutes.
But Dr. Nitet Tinnakul from Chulalongkorn University gives a total of 2.8 million sex workers, including 2 million women, 20'000 adult males and 800'000 minors under the age of 18. Most of them are working for locals and not for foreign tourists.

The responsible DNA can change and activates the sperm. It also changes the brain structure.
The findings shows that the environment can affect an individual's genetics, which can in turn be passed on to the next generation(s).
There is absolutely no doubt that what happens to the sperm and egg will affect subsequent generations. It explains why descendants show imprints of their ancestor(s), a researcher said.
